Ok but as a 4-year player his career numbers are literally a 42% shooter and a 34% 3-point shooter, and this season he is shooting 41% and 36% from 3. This is literally exactly the player he is. An inefficient, volume scorer. I was just commenting on his shooting this game.. you have your stats so im not going to waste my time getting into a debate You are right, he did have more than a couple easy shots rim out. But with that said 1) you gotta find a way to give us something when shots aren't falling. I've been critical of Tres plenty of times, but there have been nights where he couldn't shoot worth a lick, but I still felt like he was focusing on rebounds, diving for loose balls, taking a charge, etc - finding some way to contribute. I don't get that at all with ST. 2) It's already a blur, can someone confirm, did we call a set play for ST for the final shot?

How does Stevie get worse from Fr to Sr seasons? Thank god for the Payton DNA or OSU would be shutout from the tournament since Ralph was coaching in the early 80s.

Kent state might challenge Akron for 4th place in the Ohio Valley conference. They are for real. Kent St. is in the MAC and they haven't had a losing season in 20 years. Nice try.
They also have 2 guards they could play in the Pac-12 and they already knocked off Vanderbilt this year. Vandy just beat ASU (our only ranked team)
However, we still should have been able to handle them.
i dont give a FLYING F-bomb about kent effing state at this point. So your information, while super educational, has no bearing on the end result, which is another putrid loss.

You should thank god for Stevie or we wouldn't have made the tourney in 2016. He misses that buzzer beater against udub and we don't make the tourney that year.
I love how many people on this board act like GPII was the only player on the team the year we made the tourney. Tres, Stevie and Drew were the 2nd, 3rd & 4th scorers on that team. He didn't do it himself.

Good point, and I agree that Stevie has hit some big shots over the years, however, why is it that all that Freshman talent didn't improve or take OSU to another tourney? The program took a step back when GPII left and hasn't recovered. TT and ST are experienced now and should be leading this team to 18-20 wins, but trending towards 15-16 wins again, no improvement over last season, which is extremely frustrating.

Perhaps Stevie is better as a role player than the lead man on the team.

We aren't winning 7 conference games. Ha-ha...shame on me for being optimistic. Maybe 12-14 wins is more realistic, but this team will probably knock off 1-2 upper level PAC-12 teams at Gill like they usually seem to do, and then we'll all ask where that team has been all season.

When ST is having a shooting day like today, why is he still in the lineup?? It certainly is not because of his defense or creativity. I think someone who has some confidence in his shot and can keep his man in front of him should have been playing those last 6 - 8 minutes.

Bottom line is anyone who is 1-16 from the field should NOT be playing 39 minutes AND certainly shouldn’t be taking the final shot in a close game lol. How bad does Tinkle think his depth/bench is??

Beavs go up by 14 early, Kelley gets in foul trouble, perimeter defense has to sag in to cover the limitations of our only other 5, and that is all she wrote. This was as ugly a loss as I've watched in a while. There's a big hole in the key right now on D, and no desire to take a 15 ft J. Its not just in the key. There is no one that can play any consistent D. It's matador D. I about spit out a drink of Guinness when Dickau said... could be as athletic as Luke Jackson after one put back dunk... that TT is a next level player! Who in the eff could he possibly defend the the G league let alone the NBA? Again... 21-7 with 12+min left... outscored by 23 the rest of the half. Obvious concerns say D... but, the ultimate cause is the offensive arrogance and lack of instilled discipline. The early lead was running an offense, moving bodies and the ball. THEN... nothing but one on one dribbling, forcing shots under pressure! Unfortunately... nothing new to see here. Same BS the last 2+ years.

Goes to the same old BS (ok, one of the several on the BS list)... doesn't develop players, doesn't trust, let's the tail wag the dog to the detriment of the team. The Frosh PG is a far better ball handler and shooter than ST at this time.

A noon game on a Friday. WTF?! Thank you Larry Scott. Then again, this may be a good thing, since its like a tree fell and no one was around to hear it.

The past three games there were opportunities for more time with Vernon at point, move Ethan to 2 guard. Couldn't have done much worse than ST. I was hoping Vernon would get more playing time in non-conf so he'd be in the rotation and a contributor by the time PAC-12 play started.
