Isn't that the point though? A neutral site game would allow more time for people to plan to attend. A team running away with the South could book tickets a month or so in advance for a neutral site game, but what if the North division comes down to the last weekend?
And earning the home field advantage is only fair with balanced scheduling. Imagine the South Divison sucks (hard to do, I know). Utah runs the table in the South and misses the two best teams in the North, so they get to host despite playing a far weaker schedule than the North Division champ, who maybe was unlucky enough to avoid two garbage teams in the south and emerges with only one loss on the road to a tough divisional opponent.

What about not having one at all?
Opt out... seems it hurts every conference except the SEC. No way an undefeated Pac12 team losing the title game is ever considered for the playoff.
Just find a league(s) to match up with for all 12 teams to play 13 game/OOC.
Most fans face their $ and go to a decent bowl destination over any title game that really only changes whay minor bowl you attend.

It's just another stinking money grub anyway. Why should a team potentially have to beat another really good team twice in the same season, and then get hammered out of a good bowl game if they lose the finale? It sucks, the Pac 12 sucks, outrageous recruiting sucks, spending $50-100 mil on college football sucks, attracting NFL fan to a college team he couldn't locate on a map sucks, the Big 10 having 14 teams and the Big 12 having 10 teams sucks, and looks really, really stupid! Other than that, I think it's great.

Not gonna drop that.

kersting13 - presently, I'm not sure what the answer is either....but I doubt you'd sell out half the stadiums in the conference for a home P12 championship at the moment either. I think the best bet is to lock up the venue then start investing in the teams to make them worthy of filling a stadium in Vegas. You can tarp off the upper decks and force everyone down low if you have to so it looks decent on TV. Sure there will be some sportswriters snarkily taking photos of the tarps and posting them online, but the general perception will be better. I think Vegas make great sense (look at all of us agreeing with Beavernut!). Pac-12 schools are just geographically located too far apart, it's never going to be easy to draw for the championship game. I believe the SEC championship game is less than a 5 hour drive for maybe 9 or 10 of the 14 schools, just a couple hours from Athens, Tuscaloosa and Auburn. Certainly a lot easier for a family to make that road trip than paying to fly. So with that said, having somewhere like Vegas where there's also a tourism draw/reasonably priced flights can't really hurt IMO. Also, Sam Boyd is terrible and a P12 championship game being held at a Mountain West Stadium does sound very Larry Scott. The LV Raiders stadium is just across the overpass from Mandalay Bay. Las Vegas is not a horrible drive for 5 of the 6 southern division teams plus Cal and Stanford. And it's the weekend after Thanksgiving and before all the cowboys show up for NFR. (What is the National Finals Rodeo? Is there some dress code that requires bushy mustaches? Can the NFR be held at the leading cowboy's home ranch instead?)

I was actually just in LV for a conference at the exact same time as the NFR. Had no idea how big a deal it was... Kind of weird seeing a guy wearing spurs in your elevator.
