Thanks willtalk for the insightful assessment. My instinct (which is often wrong) tells me that Trish is eventually going to be a special player.

Lol... in a 50 pt blow out its insignificant. I'll not argue about significance of minutes when the player averages under 5/g. Pretty much tells the story. The original poster said he wanted OSU to “drop some of these cupcakes” and upgrade the competition. I said our OOC schedule is tough enough and tougher teams just means less PT for the freshmen. The stats to date back that up. Plus, the schedule is what it is, there is no changing it so the OP’s point was a fatuous assertion to begin with. In your own words... "wanted" obviously to most means in the future not this season. To state otherwise is insulting the poster's knowledge (or poster as you cleverly called their idea asinine) that schedules can not be altered or a complete fabrication to make your point. In your eyes it does of course mean the stats back this up. But, vs the weakest of the weak the frosh are not getting significant minutes... 5 min a game is not significant. To argue otherwise is again an illogical attempt to somehow think you're making your point. AND... vs weak competition in noncompetitive games does not truly prep them for what is ahead in an area this team desperately needs to improve. PS- far far less minutes than other true frosh "bigs" that were seen as good recruits vs very similar schedules... and given far more minutes even vs the NC, Tennessee's, and Pac12 teams. So in the past tougher teams did not mean insignificant time even when we had other options at the position. More minutes vs better competition is key for development, it's one of the key components of having depth... good players battling in practice vs one another. Hence, the schedule has little to do with it. It is pretty obviously SR and staff do not feel the same way about this year's Frosh and their ability to contribute and play the way the system dictates. Changing the schedule wouldn't change that drastically either way. And, right now the schedule is "hiding" that weakness that was glaring in the 2nd half vs ND.

There is no point in debating with " baseba1111". This individual seems to believe that whatever he/she professes is the gospel. I'm willing to listen, but I stop listening when there is a position taken that nothing you present can cause me to alter my view. BTW, is there an "ignore" feature on this board? Is it a bit self serving to think that other posts are about you or trying to get you to change your view? HA... maybe posters can post their views without regard to who does or doesn't agree with them? maybe it isn't a popularity contest and posters really do not care if you or others' change the "view"? Hmmmm... might not be about being right or wrong, but sharing info, opinions, thoughts... and in doing so take the oh so "scary risk" of being called out by differing opinions or factual info. Oh no.... So, in regard to your specific posting, when an opinion (complete fabrication) is made to be based in fact, discussing and presenting contrary info is pretty basic stuff. I don't try to change peoples' minds.... I don't care if they do or hold on to whatever opinion they have. But, when it is easy to look up factual contexts to poke holes in those "opinions" stated as though they are factual or common knowledge I present the info. Again... to each their own. But, there is no "debating" on an electronic medium. There are posts and interpretations. Some allow interpretations to also foster emotional responses, their choice. Some, make blatantly ridiculous statements of a judgmental nature based on zero knowledge of a poster or their intent. Good to know you have such insight that I'm all about my posts being "the gospel". But, this is a message board full of opinions (and "gospel" evidently)... you stated yours and it is clear you must hold on to some views no matter what is presented. Scary that "nothing" can convince you once you take a side on an issue. But, again to each their own. And... you're right. There is an "ignore" feature... and the opportunity to not post or even come online. Far be it from any poster to try to get you to deviate from any of your beliefs!

The one piece of useful information I extracted from that long post was there is an "ignore" feature. Care to share the "how" to enable it?

I understand that it is hard sometimes to hear negatives associated with the team and it can be irritating when people dwell on those negatives. However, I think people should think twice about blocking them out. If you really care about understanding anything, you should be open to listening unless it is obviously ridiculous (counter to objective evidence). If something is contradicted by objective evidence, it is a very healthy thing to point it out. We won't have very interesting discussions here if most people insist upon dwelling only on feel-good comments.

I think he is referring to how you(1111) react to others...not himself/herself.(Poorly worded but I believe this is the intent)
"Scary that "nothing" can convince you once you take a side on an issue. But, again to each their own."
Glad to see you believe living like that is "Scary". Can you take self criticism? Or are we finally going to see a baseba1111 on baseba1111 slugfest? Each not willing to give in to the other. This could be good. LOL

I’ve learned the best way to interact w 1111 is (after a couple back and forths) is to simply state: yep! You’re right, and drop it. Now that the ‘ignore’ feature has been explained, new possibilities present themselves!

As "ricke71" inferred, I will enjoy, more so now, visiting Benny's House to read the views of WBB Beaver Believers.

This could be good. LOL Emotional interpretation of electronic media postings is often quite sketchy and even more often incorrect. Sometimes a post directly states an emotional reaction or response, but most do not and are left open to whatever a readers' predilection happens to be. I've stated many times, I'm not here to do anything but post... info or factual or educated opinion based on experiences. If that means my 'beaverdom' is questioned, or told that I'm being negative or hurt some internet guru's feelings... well, that is well within the right of another poster to think and state. The only emotional "attachments" to any post of mine is humor/sarcasm. Of course, the same people who interpret a poster's intent (of the post or how they indeed "treat" people) seem to miss the fact it is they who just make up stereotypical judgments based on no knowledge or pertinent info. Of course in the crowd mentality of today, if others happen to agree with you, you must be clearly right. That really worked in the last election cycle! The last highlight clearly this states I do not care how others view a topic, or if they refute info given to them by me or anyone else. It is there choice to come here and there choice in what they choose to post and believe. But, I've never stated it was true of myself, it was their description of their own personality. You did read the thread and get that, right? I personally do not mind hearing opposing viewpoints and have regularly been swayed by thoughtful/factual presentations. So...

I do think it would be worth OSU's time/money to hire someone who understands how the RPI is calculated so that they could play creampuffs that wouldn't drop their rankings so much. Dropping 10 places after winning a game seems absurd, while Calif is 2nd ranked in the country. Those Braniacs in Berkeley obviously know how to gimme the system, why not hire one of them to work for us?

I don't know anyone on this board personally. All I know about them is what they reveal of themselves through their writings. That's all I have to go on. 5 minutes in a game is 5 or six offense/defense sets. That's enough game action to give your coach an idea how much of your practice game you can bring to prime time. I highly doubt ANY freshman player thinks 5 minutes of game-time is "insignificant". If they did - well that would be their problem. "Asinine" is your term, not mine.
