In other news, Phil Knight reinstates the funding Nike had promised for the new NCAA office building complex, but announces that the desks in the facility will not be made from Dalbergia wood, but from Ebony to express his displeasure at the penalties imposed on the 'ucks. What a slap on the wrist!

How can graves even be considered for the coach of the year when he not only admitted that he knew infractions were happening but actually instructed for the infractions to continue.
Anything to win

Anything to win Because apparently there are still a lot of people who believe "If you're not cheating, you're not trying."

If they feel that NCAA competition rules are too burdensome they should terminate their membership. Otherwise, take your penalties and STFU.

It is always glorious to see Oregon squirming. But these are pretty minor infractions that are likely common across the NCAA. Every big time program, including ours, have one or several people in ‘graduate assistant’ or other administrative roles who are former collegiate basketball players. I expect that at some point they throw on their basketball gear for a pickup game with the players on the team. That’s what this amounts to.

The punishment is partially based on the multiple infractions, a pattern has been established, over the last twenty years. And a coach admitting he knew it was wrong but instructed his staff to continue anyway shows a complete disregard for the ncaa and it's rules. He's lucky there aren't more significant sanctions. Easily could have been no ncaa tournament.

First paragraph on Austin Meek's register guard article:
"The ncaa got so mad at Adidas, it threw a two-game suspension at kelly graves."
It is an obvious attempt to focus the attention away from graves, uo, and nike.
