I was one who enjoyed the low-scoring affair last night. I'd rather see two teams battle hard trying to find the play that will break the other team's will than a high scoring match. Gimme a team that puts defense ahead of offense. I'd like to see a coach focus on defeating the other team by not letting them score points. Period. I don't think it's too much to ask for. At one point, we had a fairly consistent level of linebackers coming through the program, right? That would be a sight to see! 3-4 sacks every game! Turnovers! Passing games thwarted. Running game stifled. I'd be in the stands every Saturday if they could field a great defense. Offense comes and goes. So much of the offense depends upon a skilled and mature QB. And you need talent in both the running game and the receiving corps. Great defense. Mediocre offense. I'll take it! It would be nice if a lot more people would be in the seats every week, regardless of what side of the ball we’re “stronger” at...just sayin’.

It would be nice not to be in between jobs. It would be nice not to have to pay tuition for my son at Oregon State. Other things come first....just sayin'.

That much I will guarantee (win or not). You're probably right. These days all fans care about are high scoring games. Baseball, basketball, football, seem to continually tweak their rules in order to produce higher scoring games. We (as a society) love the flashy offense.

Is there a conference championship game that’s not played at a neutral site? Not a Power 5 one. However, our league is more geographically spread out than any of their other power 5. I think they need to go back to the best record hosting. If they want a neutral site, they should move it to Vegas when the Raiders stadium is done. At least Vegas is a better destination than Santa Clara. Vegas is the clear place to have a "neutral site" game. There are plenty of people who would reserve a weekend in early December there (actually one of the cheapest times of the year in Vegas unless the hotel you plan to stay at is hosting a big conference) well in advance just to go to the Championship game even if their favorite team isn't heavily favored to make it there. If their team is picked I'd bet a heck of a lot of fans would like to make it there. Not to mention, Vegas is within a few hour to long day drive from 7 of the 12 conference school cities, and it's likely among the lowest airfare destinations from every conference city. They'd be crazy not to host the game there assuming the stadium is available.

Although driving time is likely same same San Fransisco>>>>Santa Clara-----San Fransisco>>>>>Vegas (I just looked up th address for the Pac 12 office. Right in San Fransisco. I thought they were out in Walnut Creek? I guess it's part of the Pac 12 network boondoggle)

It was a slow weekend in Las Vegas. The game would be better here than in San Jose. Barely related but I heard the Rio is going to be imploded and a baseball stadium is going to be built on the location. Will Las Vegas take both the Raiders and the Athletics?

It seems to me it had been brought up, can't remember if by the Pac 12 or the new stadium owners, a couple years back when they were discussing putting in the stadium. I can't speak for anyone else, but Vegas is just about the only location I can think of I'd be willing to reserve well ahead of time every couple years and consider it a bonus if the Beavs made it to the conference championship game. I would hope it happens. The only real issue I have with early December in Vegas is several of the resident shows are shut down and the bulk of the musicians coming into town are country musicians (rodeo championships are usually right then I think).
