A little more information on this one: "Taylor Jones, Dallas Christian: The five-star recruit, an Oregon State signee, had 51 points, 17 rebounds and six blocks as Dallas Christian finished unbeaten in district play with a 73-29 win over Tyler T.K. Gorman. Jones, who underwent double hip surgeries as a junior, surpassed 2,000 career points in three seasons. Her twin sister, Tori, had the assist on the basket that put Taylor over 2,000 points." Worth noting is Taylor had 51 of the team's 73 points, so the opponents must have 'sold out' trying to defend her and yet came up short, but they also scored 29 points, so they also might not be a good benchmark for Pac-12 play (or Dallas Christian plays some mean defense). Special that her sister gave her the assist. Wonder if that was by design or happenstance since they were likely up by 40+ at that point...... Go Beavers! However... to some on here... the shear travesty of leaving her in up by so much. And, what? To collect just meaningless stats! Oops... forgot she's a potential Beaver not a current uck! 🍻 Oh right, it is only okay when Ionescu is the one doing that.

Funny how with some posts I never really have to read the name of the poster to know who it is.

Wow Troll Master Yoda, talking smack at players before they even get to campus. Your discerning eye for the insults and put downs is matchless.

I don't understand much about HS basketball, and even less about Texas HS hoops..... Dallas Christian, I learned via google skulking, does have a roster of 13 players. But more interesting to me is their ranking at MaxPreps (without understanding the methodology of this site, mind you): National Rank 3773 State (TX) Rank 333 Doesn't a superstar team member propel the HS rankings higher? Or is it a function of their league, level, conference, etc. etc.? Will be interesting to see what happens in the post - PM might be getting a load of minutes next year at post, and Taylor may or may not be starting day 1 given her competition level in HS (I don't think Mik or Taya started day 1 either). Note that I am mentally penciling in Kennedy for KTMac's spot day 1, and that might be folly on my part as well, since a recovered Kat might have something to say about those minutes......(are you on a minutes watch after ACL?). Go Beavers!

Kat, Aleah, and Maddie are all going to have something to say about who starts next year, and how minutes are shared.

Go Beavers! Minus the Jones sisters Dallas Christian has a young team this year. It was expected to be somewhat of a rebuilding year. The team relying heavily on the twins was expected.

The MaxPrep ratings are based not only on the teams record but the record of the teams they play against. If they play in a weak league or have a less than stellar schedule their rankings are usually low. I checked both Taylor and Jones's teams early on and neither is really playing a demanding schedule. As anyone who actually follows high school girls basketball knows, stats mean very little. It depends on who you are playing against. In cases like this, one can always check to see it the girls play on an AAU team. If they do they should be playing in the EYBL which is the top league. If not their stats mean very little as well. Although the gap is diminishing, the level between the top and the bottom teams in high school ball is immense. The same holds true for individual players.

I believe in Texas that during district play all the religious schools are put in their own league.

I updated this thread to now include Mitrovic's season as well. She puts up some very encouraging numbers!
