So she essentially joins the 2019 class. We will be very deep at the 4 and 5, and I think those are both very good positions to have depth at. Not every post has Marie’s stamina, and having a fresh post will do us wonders. I think Brown and Jones will be more college-ready than Aquino and Morris.

Next year's freshman class will be interesting to say the least.
Looking at her frame this year on the bench I thought a year of strength building would really benefit her. I'm sure she will benefit of an extra year to learn the game and especially the game as played by the Beavers.

I think most of us expected this. I just hope she is ok and has a nice college career.
Andrea, Kennedy, and Taylor would make quite the trio next year and beyond. Look out Pac12 if the Beavs have the recruiting year I think they can have for 2020.

I was keeping my fingers crossed hoping that this wouldn't be needed. Let's hope that whatever the problem is that AA is all set next year.

I agree with the ardent hope that whatever issues AA faces can be resolved successfully by Fall 2019. I went looking to see "whatever happened to AA's classmate who signed with Vandy?" and it looks like there is a somewhat happy conclusion to that story.......(other than exposing how unscrupulous people can be). Also, the fact that AA is enrolled and practicing is encouraging! And the situation is resolved, at least as far as this season goes. Go Beavers!

From nj.com Andrea Aquino began her journey in Paraguay. At 6-foot-7, people in her village thought she was a freak -- all arms and legs clinging to the motorcycle she and her mother sold clothes from to support themselves. And Blessing Ejiofor landed in the U.S. on the fast track to college, via Nigeria, but her dreams were crushed by the adults she trusted most. That trust has cost her a scholarship to Vanderbilt and forced her back to Africa, where she remains a prisoner of immigration rules.

Watch AA shooting in the background of the DS interview, pretty smooth

No doubt she is smooth as heck for 6’9”. I doubt Rueck is redshirtting her just to bring her along, because she would be playing some meaningful minutes IMO. They need her. Hopefully she is ready to go by next season.

Watch AA shooting in the background of the DS interview, pretty smooth For sure, if your laying bricks. Watched it three times. Now we know why she is redshirting.

Considering she was shooting from 15 feet, give or take a few feet, she looked pretty good to me. Those are mid range numbers and not all low post players can make them. Marie was excellent at that range and had been most of her career.

YOUR not going to believe this, but I haven't been this excited about a recruit since DA. Wish her the best. GO BEAVS

I was keeping my fingers crossed hoping that this wouldn't be needed. Let's hope that whatever the problem is that AA is all set next year. She'll be fine. But, according to special education academics at WOU, a non-native English speaker needs a full seven years in the language to succeed at an American university. This will make sure she's able to stay enrolled.
