Will Oregon State Women’s Basketball Win More Games Than They Did In 2017?On November 9th, the Oregon State Beavers’ women’s basketball team opens their ninth regular season under head coach Scott Rueck on November 9th in Corvallis against Cal Poly. 2017 was yet another strong year for the Beavers reaching a record of 26-8 and another appearance in the Elite Eight in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament. This season, the Beavs are #8 in the preseason AP Poll, have a strong class of freshmen and transfers coming in, and several key pieces from last season’s team returning. So we put the question to you, Beaver Nation...Will Oregon State Women’s Basketball Win More Games Than They Did In 2017?

Will they do better than last year? Hard to predict. I think they will score more points than last season. But without Marie in the middle not sure they will be better defensively. If they manage to equal last seasons achievements it would be a very successful season.

Will they win more games than last season? Hard not to be optimistic, but realistically we need our bigs to fill a massive void and if they can (do) - we will win more games. We are one of the best 3pt teams in the country, our back court is now stronger than ever so I think this seasons expectations are high for a good reason but there's always that BUT! One thing i know is our coaches will not take a back step and they will find a way to win and make every spot a winner.
So here's to a highly anticipated season Go Beav's!!!

I say yes, but we also are playing a much tougher preseason schedule than last year. Going to be fun regardless, go Beavs!

Even with the much tougher pre conference schedule I think, or at least hope, that they do have more wins.

I have hopes that they won’t drop games to Arizona State, UCLA, or USC this season. All Arizona State and USC bring back a lot. I am higher on this board on UCLA than probably anyone else on this board. Onyenwere, Horvat, Drummer, and Dean all played some meaningful minutes a season ago and return. I think they will still be more competitive than most people think. Hopefully I am incorrect. I would be very upset if we dropped any to UW, WSU, Arizona, Utah, or Colorado. Cal too but Anigwe could give Jo tough times with her versatility and athleticism, but our guards are incomparable. Both UO games look to be very competitive and I think we’ll steal at least one and wouldn’t be shocked if we get both. Stanford too. We are going to miss Gulich a lot though, but others will step up... and I say that confidently. If we do drop games in the preseason, South Carolina or Notre Dame seem the most likely. South Carolina can very easily be a winnable game if we are on. Duke and A&M look to be competitive too.
