Kennedy Brown, listed at #19 on ESPNW's Class of 2019 top basketball recruits, is in Corvallis this weekend for her official visit. Let's keep an eye out for a 6'6" female athlete hanging out with the women's basketball team and give her a Corvallis welcome if you should see her. Brown has been to Corvallis previously for an OSU basketball camp. With the Corvallis high temp being forecast for 74-75 degrees and sunny throughout the weekend, it appears that Brown and OSU picked a great weekend for her to see the beauty of a Corvallis fall weekend. As noted in the first link below that lists her known official visits, Brown's final four colleges under consideration appear to be Oklahoma, Oregon, UCLA, and Oregon State. wbbblog.com/2018/04/14/2019-class-finalists/www.espn.com/high-school/girls-basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/220220

Well for heaven's sake, keep her away from Destiny! That sourpuss could ruin everything!

Well for heaven's sake, keep her away from Destiny! That sourpuss could ruin everything! I recognize the irony and humor intended in thickhead's post above. I believe that Destiny will likely be one of two player hosts for Kennedy Brown this weekend due to the fact that she would play two seasons with Brown in the event that Brown should select Oregon State for her basketball future. Typically, the selected hosts are underclassmen who have a greater likelihood to be longer-term teammates for the recruit. Most recruits are assigned two player hosts if the recruit is visiting OSU without another recruit being present. Slocum's relative celebrity status and pleasant personality make her a logical choice to serve as a player host to a 6'6" center who wants to be assured that she will have someone to look for her and pass to her for the next few years.

Curious which family members may have come along as well. From twitter post, it seems her Mom may have made the UCLA and Oregon trips. They should have a good idea of Oregon fall weather from being here two weeks ago as well visiting Oregon. I just hope the fact that we already have AA and PM, plus an incoming TJ doesn't lead Kennedy to believe we don't need any more 'bigs'. I think she would be a perfect addition, and if the coaches can bring in the 2020 guards/wings I think the they can, this program would be looking strong for years to come. I don't want to keep losing recruits to Oregon though, so Kennedy, make the right move!

"I'm Gonna Win Because I Wanna Win."
A 10-minute documentary video on Kennedy Brown is accessible below. It provides some additional insight into the mindset of one of the nation's top Class of 2019 girls basketball recruits.

Everyone who follows this board closely knows that she wants to be a stretch-4. He would use her really well and with Jones, Aquino, and Morris she wouldn’t play the 5 often.
Technically with Corosdale Ruecl could employ a 3 out 2 in lineup with Corosdale, Slocum, and Goodman/Simmons on the perimeter, Jones/Morris as the low-posts and Aquino and Brown as high posts. As we add more versatile prospects it allows for more specialized lineups.

Good find beaverwbb fan.....It's nice to read a real interview with first-hand sources...
The article points out that Kennedy and her family have been rather tight lipped about most phases of the recruiting process...This really adds to the mystery and the intrigue of who Kennedy will eventually sign with....
As near as I can tell, if she goes elsewhere the Beavs are looking at a one-woman signing class... If so, that will make next year's recruiting class even more of a nail-biter for us fans, but probably even more so for Coach R and the entire program.

Can you imagine AA and PM on the floor together protecting the basket. Would love seeing that when it happens.

She still sounds like a perfect fit for the Beavers. I'm not so sure that ucla or Oklahoma are as family orientated as OSU and I know that the shmucks aren't. My orange colored glasses say we are the front runners.
