odds of winning Mega millions is 302,575,350 to 1 If you could line golf balls up on a football field (including end zones) in rows and columns and then stack them in levels, to get to 302,575,350 golf balls, the stack would be nearly 14 1/2 feet tall.! Go pick one of those golf balls...that's your odds.. That being said...'So you say I have a chance' There are scant few people on this earth that do not realize the incredible long shot that winning any sort of lottery is. For many, it is simply "what's $2 to me?" For some, sadly, it is desperation and hope. And of course, there are always those that "have a system".

I only buy a ticket if it is $300 mill or better since then I figure the risk/reward ratio is about right. I hit $4 on the Tuesday drawing, so I doubled down on the next one

Remember, there are a lot more prizes of (mostly much) smaller value. My last two buck chuck turned into a 4 dollar win - may not have been enough to buy a Taco Bell lunch special, but I still won. In fact there are a lot of prizes, some rather substantial, that never get claimed because people don't win the big one and just chuck the ticket regardless. Not saying the odds are very good, but can rent a few range balls to hit on the driving range.
