3-ptrs vs UWThis is like a tutorial on how NOT to play defense. It's remarkable to watch how one or two UW players are making a late run from 10' away in virtually every one of those 3-pt makes by OSU because they've left the shooter wide open. Seems like that's the coach's fault for not teaching how to play defense properly.

I agree. Coach Jody Wynn got her first dose of Beaver Ball in Seattle and she totally misplaced her bets....
Gambling that a road team might be off on 3-point shooting she collapsed her D to better contain Gulich at the expense of covering the perimeter... If my memory is correct, 2 nights before in Pullman the Beavs (except for Goodman) could not hit a 3 against WSU. So, in a way, it was a reasonable gamble. Especially when one considers that she had a weak team to begin with...
When her Long Beach State team faced the Beavs in Gill in the 2017 Regionals the Beavs could not buy a 3, and she nearly pulled the upset.....In the UW game you describe she placed her bets that the Beavs would have another off night from 3 and she lost big.
This year in Seattle expect the Huskies to apply much tighter pressure D on the perimeter, leaving greater space in the key...They don't have Gulich to prepare for this year !!
GO BEAVS !!

I think we can infer the thought process of that UW coach based on the evidence: "Hmmm, at WSU those stupid Beavs couldn't hit an outside shot with the Coogs playin' their usual good perimeter defense, so I can just slack off that perimeter defense and bury that 6'5" fraulein in virtuous Huskies and of course get the same result. That'll work!" And you're right. They don't have to prepare for Gulich this year. They just have to prepare for 6'9" and 6'7" and Destiny Slocum and 5 really, really good 3-point shooters.

Kind of looks like NBA All Star game defense, doesn't it? eighteen made threes, eighteen assists. (Maybe you should get 1 1/2 assists on a made three.)
I might watch that clip a bunch of times over the next 5 weeks.
