A backcourt with Pivec and Slocum is going to be STRONG. They both look so muscular. Will definitely help have 2 strong point guards in the backcourt. The addition of Slocum is so valuable in the sense that it will help move everyone to their natural position where the will be so much more effective. Ex. moving Tudor from the 2 to the 3 will benefit her a lot in the sense that with 2 distributors like Pivec and Slocum she will be able to spot up and shoot all day. KTMac will get to utilize her versatility more than last year, and Mik will get to be more of a scorer and less of a distributor. Very much agree. There won't be very many backcourts in the country that will match up physically with respect to strength with Slocum and Pivec. Both have obviously spent time in the weight room away from OSU to get where they are. I have heard from a close source that Slocum is the team's strength leader with respect to performing front squats and bench press (players typically test with five-rep max lifts), regardless of size and body weight. Pivec is a close second overall in those two lifts and is the strongest on the team pound-for-pound when body weight lifts (pullups, chins, pushups, dips) are performed. Thropay is the strongest big on the team. Strength and conditioning coach/Director of Sports Performance Jeff Macy is very good at preparing these athletes for competition.

It is clear that when we're playing ND after beating SCar in BC, that ND will post up their guards over little Destiny. ND likes to post their guards over smaller guards. All hope is lost.

Arike Ogunbowale has an inch on Slocum. I don’t think that is much of an advantage when going up against Slocum’s strength. Pivec will throw Mabrey right out of there. KTMac has enough size advantage over Jackie Young to make up for Jackie’s athleticism. We’ll be fine. Let’s see what our posts can do. I really hope this matchup occurs

Vs Notre Dame, it'll come down to post play. Shepard is a load inside. Offensively she went around McCowan in the NC game like she wasn't there. If our bigs can't play good position defense and rebound effectively, then all hope is lost. We were lucky to keep it close last year in Corvallis when Shepard was still acclimating and went 2 of 11 from the field.

Was she still acclimating? Or was it Marie’s defense? I’d say likely a little of both, but Marie was a lot quicker than Shepard and an inch taller too.
Their other big is rediculously athletic, but a long hiatus die to an ACL may have an effect there. I think Scott and Co. will have our bigs prepped in time

It likely was Marie's defense, which means that excellent defense is what we need to see out of our new bigs, too, if we get to play ND again in BC. An upset of ND would be huge, to put it mildly. Destiny should give us a big lift, but without AA and PM doing good work inside, I wouldn't give us much of a chance against ND (or SCar). K(B)F needs to get those 2 up to speed real quick. We've got only 3 counting games to learn from before we head to Vancouver. And if they put 2 bigs on the floor, we might have to counter with 2 bigger C/F players ourselves, since I think Corosdale and McWilliams could be pushed around pretty easily by sheer mass.

I believe this was asked elsewhere but I don’t believe it was answered. Anyone know whats up with Andrea Aquino? In one picture, everyone else had practice jerseys and she was in a long sleeve. In another post, everyone but her was running. In another, everyone has black shirts on and she had orange. Hope its nothing serious. She will be a crucial piece of this team come Pac-12 Season. (I almost said come March but it will be by Pac-12 Season IMO)

The girls must have just gotten back from bowling. Aleah still has her bowling glove on.
