Man, you get benched for one game and you quit. What if you back up stinks it up or gets hurt and your number is called again? Kids these days are ready to bail at the first sign of adversity. Way to bail on your team. You get demoted, time to get back at it and work harder to earn your job back. I've been at the same job for 20 years through good, bad and indifferent. I've had days that I wanted to quit, but I stuck it out because I believe that I have the ability to make things better for myself.
That kid from Ontario, OR, A.J. Feeley loses job to Princess Harrington down at hole. He didn't quit or leave....Feeley ended up starting in the NFL....I hate all things ducks, but mad respect for him to not sulk and keep working hard at his craft. I guess those days are long gone.

I agree. It's getting way to common. Same example with Matt Cassel, although those situations are extremely rare.

Tristan Gebbia "likes" this post See what you did there... Slightly different... new coach, new scheme, new staff/personalities/policies... Clemson situation was status quo in those areas.

Without knowing the specifics of the situation, I have a hard time condemning these kids' actions. I don't blame Fluke Bel Mio for bailing on the Beavers, considering what his coaches said to him. I don't blame 3M for bailing on OSU, due to how his position "battle" was handled, and how the coaching staff had treated him, and the way the depth chart was working out. Tristan Gebbia - we know he wasn't recruited by the current coaching staff, and it may have been extremely clear to him that even if he were to be promoted to the starting job via injury in 2018, that a new stack of "Frost" guys who fit the new coaching staff's vision of a QB would be coming in to take that spot the next year. We don't know the dynamics of that QB meeting room, or how good or bad the relationships are between these QBs and their coaches. Have you ever worked for a REALLY sh!tty manager? I have, and instead of suffering out the 2 years I knew it would take before said manager would get canned, I bailed on that job myself (yes, the manager was canned after I left). These kids have ONE chance to make their dreams come true. I don't blame anyone for trying to get out of what they perceive as a bad situation to attempt to keep that dream alive.

True, but you don't have a very limited window of time in which you can do your job. He had only eight games of eligibility left. Now at least he has a whole season, at a new place.

I get Gebbia transferring, it was mostly scheme & new coach plus he was young. Bryant's leaving because of bruised ego that a senior is getting benched. Get back to work and earn your job back.

Sure enough, the Clemson starting QB goes down in the first half against Syracuse.
