well if we aren't able to shoot we sure as hell should be able to snag the rebounds! because of all the missed shots?

Is it just me, the state of the program, first name brings back fond memories, or???
But, excitement over a 6'10" transfer from an arguably better program that was 2.4./1.6 in 6 min a game seems a bit over the top. This team needs more than just big body or two inside. This team needs interior production called "SCORING"... not his ability to shoot the three. I believe we have enough of those guys.

When's the last time that a guy like that panned out?

I think he's a nice piece -- especially if he's eligible this year. No, he isn't going to be a star but he can be a solid contributor. In games he played 10 or more minutes last year (15 of them), he averaged 6.2 points and 3.1 rebs. He played in 7 games against teams that played in post-season (Utah, Stanford, St. Mary's and Gonzaga) and average 10.2 minutes, 4.9 pts and 2.6 rebs. In his two games against the Utah and Stanford, he averaged 16.5 minutes, 8.5 points and 2.5 rebs. So, not mind-blowing stats to get excited about, but they lead me to believe he can be effective. And I like the fact that he step outside for a 3-pointer. No, we don't need him spending all of his time at the 3-pt line, but the ability to open up the middle some for players driving (and pulling the opponents big man away from the bucket) isn't a bad thing.

What other players are available that would satisfy the inside scoring need? It wasn't too long ago that the team was recruiting students (Sanders) to have enough bodies to practice.

I haven’t noticed any excitement about this guy. Most of what I have seen is wondering where he will fit. He is listed as a forward which seemingly will put him in a serious battle for playing time against Tinkle & Hollins, good luck, this year and next. The interesting thing is that he is 6’10”, which could be used to create match up problems, so maybe that can get him some minutes?
Regardless, I am excited to see what he can offer (like I am with all new Beavers, I need to see them for myself to judge). I hope we are all surprised given his modest stats and he finds a role on this team.
