GREAT find beavesteve..... Notre Dame ....Holy Crap....Where did that come from?? VanShowcase out did itself.... OSU, South Carolina & Notre Dame in the same gym....I'm impressed....The Semis and the 3rd place game just got a helluva lot more interesting!!
My understanding is that the venue will seat only 3,000 fans...Maybe someone can find out for sure, but I think that's correct.... GO BEAVS

I hope we don't start looking past tUSC because we're looking forward to the ND game. Of course, this should be extra motivation to win vs tUSC because of the opportunity that awaits. I sort of doubt that our bigs are going to be very polished by then, unfortunately. But this schedule should make Jasmine happy: She wanted to play against the best in the US. I hope she gets on the floor. With her background, she won't be intimidated.

That is quite the coup getting Notre Dame to participate. Beavs could/might end up playing the last 2 national champions if they can get past western Kentucky...then play and beat tUSC?...then play ND? Anyhow, all 8 teams will play 3 games in 3 days.

With what the Beavs have seen and played against I doubt any of the returners will be intimidated. The freshmen take their cues from their elders so I hope to not see any deer in the headlight looks.

Assuming we make it past WKU, SCar will be a very tough game. This will be a game where having Slocum will make all the difference in the world. She will be able to handle their guard pressure in a way that we struggled to last year. SCar won’t have an extremely strong post presence, but they do all play their role well and make up for their lack of height with speed and athleticism. But this also may be a game where we can afford to go small and not get beat up terribly on the glass. Although Corosdale isn’t a banger beneath in the same way that Alexis Jennings is, I think she could certainly hold her own against her and I believe she is their starter at the “5”. This is a game I would feel very confident about us winning at the end of the season once we do have that established game about, but although I certainly think we can win, Im not as confident without a post presence. Hope we win this one so we get a shot at ND. We have nothing to lose against them but everything to gain!

I thought this had a good chance of being televised, given the participants....but looking at the web site only a few of the men's games seem to have ESPN TV associated with them......I guess there is probably a lot of football going on that week as well. Great to play blue bloods in the non-conference - the longer we stay in (the winners bracket) the better our SoS. Got the Tennessee monkey off our back last season, great opportunity to take out UND and/or Gonzaga. I guess SR wants to host in Corvallis! And I think one of the NCAA regional sites is Portland this year. The pairings for the women's tournament are as follows (all times listed in Eastern Time) - Nov 22: Notre Dame vs. Gonzaga - 3 p.m. Drake vs. Rutgers - 5:30 p.m. South Carolina vs. ETSU - 9 p.m. Oregon State vs. Western Kentucky - 11:30 p.m. Friday's semifinals will tip-off starting at 9 p.m., followed by an 11:30 p.m start. Saturday's evening session featuring the championship/third place games commence at 8 p.m. Go Beavers!

I'm trying to find out if any of the games are televised? Television may be in the works, and not yet defined. In any case, it would be great to be there in person to see such a stacked tournament.
