Who has been to a game at Cal?

By an odd stroke of luck I will find myself in the bay area later this month and plan to catch the Thursday night Cal Game. Looking for any advice on parking, ticket availability, and others experiences down there. We're staying in the Palo Alto area so plan to drive up to Berkley in the afternoon to avoid rush hour (7 PM start) and catch a bite somewhere, so favorite casual restaurants would be of interest too.  This will be my first time on that campus; any "can't miss" sites I should check out?
