Oregon State's recruiting activity has remained relatively constant over the last seven classes, beginning with the Madrigal-Grenier class of 2015 and extending through the 2021 class with 4 known commits.
PC and the staff are entrenched on the west coast - Washington, Oregon, and California are still the meat and potato states that fuel the program. Recently OSU has landed some touted prospects from the midwest and extended west but those have been primarily the result of coaching contacts, not an aggressive recruiting sweep of those areas. Coaching contacts are invaluable in developing a relationship with a key prospect. Coach Yeskie's midwest ties have been fruitful recently.
As close as I can get it, (close only counts in love, horseshoes and trying to put stats together) these are the number of announced class members by state since 2015.
The point is, approximately 76.4% of the OSU commits come from California and the Pacific Northwest. Four key areas for OSU recruiting? Northern California primarily the greater Sacramento area, north King county and Snohomish county north of Seattle (Everett area), and the south Puget Sound area including greater Tacoma. However, it all begins at home in the state of Oregon.
California - 19 Washington - 19 Oregon - 17 Arizona - 4 Nevada - 2 Canada - 2 Wisconsin - 2 Minnesota - 2 Idaho - 1 Utah - 1 Colorado -1 Hawaii -1 Georgia - 1
