The baseball group (Casey) has done a tremendous job getting things accomplished with very little school support.

Completely incorrect.
With the current $ situation, the ADs budget, viability to pay its own bills, and other factors such as Title IX etc baseball gets plenty of support.
Not only that but every $ raised, every facility upgrade not only has to be approved and supported, but receives several "assists" from the school admin.
Thinking PC does this all on his own without significant support and help is crazy talk. And, PC and staff will tell you as much.

As always happy to hear your opposite reaction. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't hear that from Casey and his staff off the record. Supporting your fundraising is hardly a big assist.

Actually, it is always laughable to hear from those that do not know. If the original post would have lauded PC and staff for fund raising... COOL. But, to imply that OSU offers little support is false news. And... you would hear it "off the record". Were there hoops to jump thru and limitations placed that at times rankled PC? Yep. OSU as isn't the best overall place for athletic $ support, but by far OSU is not even close to the worst. PC and staff know it very well... and if not for said "support" and the structure of the fundraising allowed there would be no facility as we now know it. And, it is arguably the best overall facility in the Pac12. No other OSU sport can boast that and it wasn't by accident and it wasn't done by one man and his baseball staff. I'll also tell you there are several people looking very good over the last dozen or so years. As PC may appear to be the toast of the campus, it wasn't always so. And, without some key support he may have not made it to this illustrious stage of his career. It is pretty simple, "support" comes in many ways, and it truly takes a village. You're kidding yourself if you think otherwise.

Pat has done an excellent job of fundraising. And, as 1111 says, contrary to the narrative, there is ample institutional support.
The fans are the biggest source. Since 2008 we have paid what was supposed to have been a temporary $200 per season-ticket building fee. It has not gone away, as promised, so our season-ticket prices are by far the highest in the Pac-12, and have been for quite some time. Estimating (conservatively) at 1500 season tickets, that's $300,000 a year in revenue.
I don't credit Pat for the GoFundMe campaigns, like the one underway now and the one used to update the Trophy Room. That's pretty much SOP around the country.

Penny Knight puts baseball ahead of school. Phil probably considers it pocket change to keep the whole Knight baseball empire going and I for one am greatful for their support. That and guys like Jacoby giving back. I'm tossing in what I can, but it's a relative drop in the bucket. All adds up tho.
