In the last 4 years, or so, the only OSU WBB players to have scoring explosions like this were Wiesner, Weise, and Gulich.... Games like Kat delivered against Oregon don't come out of the blue. They come only from established stars, or from about to be stars...
Kat has established herself as a player on the cusp of becoming a star for the Beavs... When her defense improves, and when her slash to the basket improves, she will be voted a 1st Team Pac-12 All Star.
There is a lot of excitement about the new players the Beavs are bringing into the program. Rightfully so. Rueck landed some really good ones. And even more seem to be on their way.
Personally, I'm totally excited about how some of the current Beavs are in the process of becoming tomorrow's stars. Stars in the very best sense of the word. Stars like Weisner, Wiese, & Gulich. Kat Tudor is high on the list. Very high.
All this, of course, "in my view of things" !!
GO BEAVS !!

They come only from established stars, or from about to be stars... Another point to make in this regard that should really encourage us is that most of the other "point scoring explosions" that we have had the privilege to watch from Gulich, Weisner and Weise came in the late stages of their careers. These were folks who progressed through their first few years, and then "on their way out" they arrived at the pinnacle of college play. Marie this year would be a good example of this kind of progression. Kat is on a different trajectory. While she had an up and down scoring year (and I think the wrist injury had something to do with that), she is positioned to be a star in her junior and senior year. This is the really encouraging progression I see coming in SR's program: players peaking (and then sustaining) earlier in the career so we get more benefit from their presence. You are right to point out that while we are intrigued and excited by the new arrivals, the players already in the system that are progressing at eye-popping rates are what are going to really put us back in the running for Final Four kind of seasons...... Go Beavers!
