doesn't play in TD Ameritrade Park. Huh? Creighton U. is the only team that uses TD Ameritrade as it's home field, what a waste. Apparently the Triple-A Omaha team plays in a stadium they own that was built in 2011, it's called Werner Park and only seats 6,000. Someone please explain the logic to me in tearing down Rosenblatt and building two new baseball parks in a a town the size of Omaha.

Its called, "... build a new stadium or lose the CWS..."
Most locals have grown to like TD, but hate that the Blatt was torn down. Small commemorative plaque left and new zoo/aquarium parking.
Very corporate. Very sterile. Nice facility and modern. Had pro football for a short bit, UFL. Also hosted B10 baseball tourney '14, '16, '18-22. Music festival for a couple years.
City owned, turns a profit.

The triple-A team didn't want to play in a huge park with 15-18K empty seats every night. They also didn't want to go on a two-week road trip every summer. Their new stadium is perfect for them.

The city and MECA last year of loss was 2013, about a $120k counting MECA's fee to run both TD and Century Link. Almost every $ reinvested in both facilities. Quite a a feat for a $131m build.
