I see Eric Ely is coaching as well. Should be a fun experience for them.

Kat Tudor and Eric Ely are scheduled to arrive in Brazil today. A great opportunity for Kat to show what she can do playing with a new set of teammates and against international competition.

Kat's Team USA squad beat Mexico today 87-56 in its 2018 FISU America Games opener in Brazil. The entire video of the game is accessible below. Kat is #6 in navy. The Mexican team did not look very competitive in the limited game video that I watched. The game was close for a half. Tomorrow, Kat and her teammates will take on Uruguay. It appears from the schedule that there are five countries (Brazil, Chile, USA, Mexico, and Uruguay) competing in a round robin format. USA's fourth and final pool game is scheduled for Saturday. The schedule on the website does not show any bracket games following the round robin play. Four games may be it for the participating teams. If anyone can locate a box score for today's game, please post it. www.usateam.org/wbb-fisu-america-games

I received a text from a Beaver supporter who is in Brazil. Kat apparently hit "a couple of threes in five attempts" from beyond the arc against Mexico. The game was played with a "slippery" men's size ball according to the players. If true, that alone is enough to throw off a female player's shot. Such is the life of international basketball played in a foreign country. Reports are that the USA players have had virtually no practice time while in Brazil. Kat thrives with extra shooting practice and is accustomed to putting in extra shooting time wherever she goes.
The big game for Team USA is on Saturday against the home squad, Brazil. Today's opponent in Uruguay doesn't have a player on its roster taller than 5'11". The result should be a rout for Team USA in its second game of the tournament.
