KU...3 up, 3 down. OSU gets a 2 out single by Ice. He advances to 3rd on pitcher throwing error. Nobach lines to 2nd who drops the ball, but then throws out Kyle. May be a discussion with HCPC after that one.

Heimlich looking good so far. KU goes down in order again. Donahue reaches on an error. Brought home by Madrigal, who promptly steals 2nd. Stranded there on what sounds like a bad call on a Harrison grounder. 1-0 good guys after 3.

Top of the 8th and Heimlich does get replaced by Church. Solid day for Luke. Church then gives up a lead off walk. Then a single. 2 on no outs. SO. 1 out single to score 1 and put runners on the corners. Call to the pen...Engelbrekt in. Max gives up a 1-2 HBP to load the bases. Shallow FB to rightbthat holds the runners. SO to end the top of 8th giving up only 1. Beavers go down in order. 3-1, on to the 9th.

Were the Kansas batters stepping into pitches, or were we plunking them?
Our pitching was much improved this weekend. Nothing wrong with a 7-1 record after two weeks.

KU gets the lead-off man on by HBP. SO. Double to put runners at 2 and 3rd with 1 out. SO. SO to end the threat. 3-1 final Beavs go to 7-1 on the year and Max records his 4th save of the year.

Were the Kansas batters stepping into pitches, or were we plunking them? No mention on the radio feed. Sounded like the HBP's had more to do with us than them.

They were legit hbps. Trying to bury pitches inside and getting too far in. One KU player called back yesterday, and one that have forced in a run in B8 that was disallowed for some reason. Beavs only had 4 hits, but pitching and D earn high marks. It has been a really good 2 weekends down here. Hopefully Hick, Martinek, Cary and Larnach will be ready for USD. I think I saw them as a pick to appear in Corvallis regional, so a step up in competition.
