For the whole championship series. Vacation meaning I was visiting my wife's family in Colorado. I was able to stream the games on my phone, and my FiL is a huge baseball fan so it was cool.
BUT, my story is this: We left Colorado and went to Moab to show the kids Arches and the area. That next morning we are in the hotel breakfast room waiting on some waffles when a youngish guy, around maybe 20 or so strolls in, wearing a U of O shirt and a U of O hat. He walks right up next to my wife to grab something at the table. She looks over at him, he looks at her, and she loudly proclaims
"HOW ABOUT THOSE BEAVERS!"
The guy just hung his head, and muttered "I knew somebody would say something".
I am not sure I have ever been more proud.

I'll only argue the "true" portion in that one late night across from the stadium at a bar named "Lefty's" a lone uck fan in gear was holding court at a corner table with a few gator and longhorn fans... Before I loudly called BS, in true uck fashion he was explaining that the only reason for OSU's baseball success was the secret infusion of Nike money to keep PC and redo Goss. Of course OSU was "little brother" and our success was due to Oregon and uncle $$$$ I quickly, rudely called out his BS... shortly joined by another older (who'd been at Lefty's longer from the sound of it) OSU fan who ran the dude out of the place with flames of truths... hopped over the street side railing not to be seen again. Or at least never saw uck gear in there again over two week span! Mother effers...

I mean, Phil Knight (well, really, his wife) absolutely DID donate money to help renovate Goss and absolutely donated money that ultimately helped to bump Casey's pay in 2013. But Goss Stadium was funded by primarily (big surprise here) the GOSS family in 1998. but it is all in context. donating money to help with Goss also (big surprise here) helps the Corvallis KNIGHTS. The team was moved from Gresham to Corvallis in 2007. A nicer stadium and strong fan interest in baseball helps the Knights out too... And hey, while we are at it, Phil Knight donated a bunch of money for the Raising Reser project too... Phil Knight helped, yes... one cannot claim his the exclusive reason. And one cannot claim OSU wouldn't of found the money some other way to keep Casey back in 2006.
