Revenge is a dish best served in Omaha...LOL! Short of us imploding, I like our odds in the rematch.

Revenge is a dish best served in Omaha...LOL! Short of us imploding, I like our odds in the rematch. We did implode, real bad in game one. despite us playing a season worse game in both pitching and fielding... we kept the fight on and was still a puncher's chance away in an 8-6 game. I simply do not think UNC can hang at all if we actually play our typical, high quality game.

Sure would like to see Kwan in Center. Also, pitching wise... Abel is probably spent, we would need Luke for Friday, I don’t know about Gambrell, Pearce really does not have knockout stuff, Fehmel either. My favorite is to go with Eisert, then go to Chamberlain, then to Mulholland. But..., still got the same Friday issues when you win( positive thinking). Obviously have to stroke the ball, big time, early. We owe them a big payback game !

Casey mentioned Eisert as a candidate to start Wednesday in the post-game presser. Maybe he meant Chamberlain or was trying to throw off the speculation.

Luke has had his "Oh %##@ I am in the World Series" moment, and he threw about half the number of pitches he can normally throw in an outing; so I would like to see him start tomorrow. If he can give us 5 good innings, Chamberlain can come in and slam the door. Then we worry about Friday. That's my scenario, and I'm sticking to it!

Should I do PbP for this game, I'll be joining around the bottom 1/top 2. Get off work at 4.

NC is at a bit of an advantage as far as the mound goes... they have more flexibility as many of their pitchers have started (9)... all but one has pitched in some relief role... they really spread out their responsibilities/roles, and have more experience here... I think (10) guys have gotten on the hill here so far.
vs Miss St... Bergner would be considered their 3rd best starter by ERA (4.25), but the most starts (13) and 3rd best record (7-3)... Baum... considered their 4th starter (12), 4-1, 4.45 Hutchinson... their 3rd most starts (10) only faced 5 hitters
vs OSU... Criswell, Hiatt, Lancellotti, Daniels... their best relievers pitched fairly effectively and no one faced over 8 batters
The bats will have to score as OSU pitching will not only be inexperienced in this CWS, they have been very inconsistent in the regular season. NC is 37-0 this year when scoring 6 runs or more, but 18-22 in the CWS (16-14 since 2006).

OSU has already proven that they have to play a solid game or they'll get beat.
That being said...every team left in the CWS is dangerous...including our beloved alma mater. If OSU plays its game well, they can beat anyone at anytime. We'll need a little luck from here on out, and some sharp, sharp play.

It would be nice to break up his rhythym early and have that momentum from last night carry over early in the game.
