I wish him the best. He seems to be a pretty grounded, well-rounded kid. He had a lot of talent. I would have loved to have seen him in a Beaver uniform, but it wasn't in the cards. Sad about the injuries, and not sure how much he would have carried the rock with Freeman around, but in the end I'll be happy for him when he's able to walk normally at the age of 40!

I wonder if he'll try track, if his ankles are up to it.

He should have stuck to track... he was very injury prone in HS during ftbll. Still recovered to be an elite sprinter;and 10.38 100m are way more special than college RBs.
At least he seems to be a solid kid with a great future unlike some recent hole castoffs.

I wonder if he'll try track, if his ankles are up to it. ironically, it was a bum shoulder that forced (or perhaps just initiated) his retirement.

They haven't really disclosed WHY he is medically retiring off his shoulder, but I have a hard time believing it is the shoulder alone. and Oregon is notoriously closed lipped (honestly, as they should be). I suspect a spinal stenosis. but that is 100% conjecture based on nothing more than my own limited base of knowledge. Long and short is I think it is hard to have a career ender in your shoulder without something catastrophic happening which we all would of seen or heard about.

I'm curious what led you to spinal stenosis, of all things... especially making the leap from shoulder to neck (assuming we're talking about cervical stenosis not lumbar)
