Just exactly what does a QC coach do? We have a few, but I've just thought it was a naming game to add more staff.
Was this a quality move by the Pats, a publicity stunt or a meritorious service reward?

You mean Kathryn Smith with the Bills; first female full time coach?

Yeah, the Bills, my bad. Watched two football stories and got them cross-threaded.

She's been with Ryan for 7 years in support roles. I assume it's not a publicity stunt.

Was this a quality move by the Pats, a publicity stunt or a meritorious service reward? Quality control coaches don’t have a strict job description, but they usually spend very long hours breaking down tape, analyzing data, and presenting reports to coaches. It’s the very bottom rung of the NFL coaching profession, but also what Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley called, “the greatest job in football as far as learning,” and the starting point for numerous NFL head coaches. deadspin.com/bills-hire-nfls-first-full-time-female-coach-1754202754
