With all due respect. That’s not a distinction that you give to yourself. No matter how deserving you might be. But I like that we’re thinking big.
They're definitely this American’s Team, for sure. 🧡🖤🧡🖤🦫🦫🏀🏀🤙🤙🇺🇸🇺🇸

Talia & the team are taking this and running with it!

And it’s working. Goofing around making tik toks about applying for Americas Team is not “giving yourself” anything. It’s a bunch of college students playing a game, and playing well, enjoying the experience while also entertaining the media and fans. I thought it was a fantastic interview and had the media that was there laughing. They ARE becoming Americas team because of the exact reasons Talia stated and will be talked about next year from the beginning. Geez Lighten up, they may be “this Americans team” but let them shine to the rest of the country as well.

Love him or not, this is a great article.
“ After the game, ESPN’s post-game coverage was disappointing. It largely focused on the Irish losing the game, not Oregon State winning it. The host and panel on the postgame show blathered on and on about how Notre Dame star Hannah Hidalgo struggled and was told by officials to remove her nose ring during the game.
OSU’s von Oelhoffen must have seen it. She tweeted: “Y’all worried about the wrong type of rings.”
So yeah, America, what do the Beavers need to do to become your team? Because they’re now one upset victory over South Carolina away from crashing the Final Four party. von Oelhoffen was asked at Saturday’s news conference in Albany, New York to present the public case. And she did a terrific job talking up the least-talked-about team in the bracket.”

I dislike when players on any team start responding to perceived slights. Just tweet about your team and not to outsiders. OSU is in no way "America's Team"... tongue in cheek or not, it's social media and such posts are open to be interpreted harshly. Just stay out of that arena, act like you expected to be here and what outsiders think doesn't matter.

And justifiably so by the media, they need to pay the bills, so they write about things people will read. Very smart by TvO to give the media something to write about.

Lol... it's exactly what they are... perceived as slights! But, OSU is still not America's Team. OSU is a newcomer and not a national brand like ND, SC, LSU, etc. And, honestly never will be, get use to it. No amount of immature media attention changes that. Guess who gets more clicks, hence attention. Pretty basic. If "team/family" is so important what's said outside your circle shouldn't matter. Just play the games on the court not on social media.

Look at this guy, living in 2024, and still hasn't learned that people are famous multi-millionaires on social media for literally no reason beyond getting people to care about their lives.

So now you can't rant about how the team is really bad and will be for all time because, dontcha know, that'd look really silly now. So you've switched to how they aren't and can't be any good on social media. And then you added in the "If "team/family" is so important what's said outside your circle shouldn't matter." so that if the ARE successful in social media then they are hypocrites about being a family because they are only thinking about themselves. Cleverrrrrr, win win for you!! Isn't there a lawn somewhere you should be standing in shaking your fist screaming about those darn kids down the street?

At least I've got a lawn.

Some of you are making a mountain out of a molehill. It's just a bunch of kids thoroughly enjoying their 15 minutes of fame as much as they can, and there's nothing, absolutely nothing, wrong with that.
