Tied for the third-best start in Oregon State history.
The 2013 and 2024 calendars are identical for March, April, and May. (No Leap Day in 2013, so the February calendar is different.) Easter falls on March 31th in both years.
Oregon State started 5-1 in Pac-12 play in 2013 with just one loss to Arizona State. Otherwise, the Beavs only dropped one midweek game against San Francisco. However, without a conference tournament in 2013, Oregon State still had a nonconference weekend left on the schedule. And it was against San Diego in San Diego for Easter Weekend. 2013 Oregon State lost the Holy Thursday and Holy Saturday games against San Diego to stumble to 22-4 after the 21-2 start. The 2013 Beavs would win seven of nine to go to 29-6 before losing both ends of a double-header in Seattle on April 20th, 29-8. 21-3 (a loss in Eugene, a loss to Wazzu, and a loss to Kansas State in the Super Regional) after that into Omaha, 50-11.
No Oregon State team has ever started 22-2. The 2024 Beavs would take over third place by themselves with a win in Irvine on Holy Thursday.
1962 Oregon State lost game #25, a 10-9 loss in Pullman. Thus, the 2024 Beavs would catch the 1962 Beavs at 23-2 with two wins in Irvine.
No Oregon State team has ever started 27-2. After starting a very impressive 26-2, 1962 Oregon State lost four straight to end the season, dropping two one-run games against Oregon and then getting swept out of the Tournament by Santa Clara.
Only one Oregon State team has started 28-2 and that was the 2017 Beavs. 2024 Oregon State would catch 2017 Oregon State with seven straight wins. No Beaver team has ever gone 32-2. So Oregon State would pass 2017 Oregon State with 11 straight wins.
The last five teams to start 20-3 or better have played in Omaha. Six of the last seven to start 19-4 or better have played in Omaha. The seventh were the 2014 Beavs, who were given the #1 overall seed and lost the Corvallis Regional to Irvine.
