Two biggest takeaways from today, for me, are Segura, and the defense. We made play, after play, robbing the dirty Dawgs of base hits. Segura has cemented himself in the weekend rotation. If we can continue to play defense, and pitch, look out. Oh, and good riddance to the Dawgs.....have fun with that travel schedule. If we're "on our game" we should crush the Pac 12 this year. Show me a team in conference that we can't beat the s%#t out of? Answer: "There isn't one."

The free passes crowd should be satisfied with this weekend. Got tired of hearing about that. Hopefully no more threads about it lol When you quit walking/hitting people, there is no reason to complain about it. So yes, very satisfied with our pitching this weekend. We made them hit the ball, and we caught it. Funny how that works. If we continue to quit walking/hitting people, there still won't be any reason to complain about it. If we revert to hitting/walking people again at the rate we were, you will certainly hear about it. Talked to a number of UW parents this weekend; they are very unhappy about the move to the Big Ten. They said they would miss playing us because it is always an exciting weekend, either home or away, with lots of fans at the ballpark and people who care. They also acknowledged we are PFG. Maybe their SS, Clayton, will want to Portal back home…

Wonder if we will start to see opposing teams with a lot of intentional walks for him? Or the unintentional/intentional walk? If that happens, Travis will be constantly on base, causing problems with a loaded lineup behind him. For Pac 12 teams, it's going to be "pick your poison" all year long. Yep, no way you intentionally walk the lead off hitter. Maybe in later innings, but still very dangerous with his speed.

Looks like Baz needs HR in the next 4 games to tie the consecutive games record. Couldnt find anything about lead off HR streak though. Consecutive Games With A Home Run 9—Tyler Bosetti, Nevada, April 24-May 11, 2021 fs.ncaa.org/Docs/stats/baseball_RB/2024/D1.pdf

Bosetti hit 11 all year in 2021, still managed 9 in a row.

Sometimes when a pitcher fields well it sets a tone and all the guys step it up. I mean there's no way you can let the pitcher have better effort plays than you as an infielder. Trosky, Baz and Krieg all made some of their best defensive plays this year on the field today.

Segura aiming to be the Friday starter. What? I thought he was a bum after giving up 6 runs last week. How soon we forget.

Trosky at SS is as advertised. Suckin up balls like a hoover. Quick hands.

I once knew a guy named Fred. His personality was asshole & he wore a lot of green & yellow gear around the neighborhood.
