I think Rueck should let Beers take a few shots from beyond the arc. If she hits them it'll give future opponents something else to worry about.

The Blazers tried that with Nurkic. Was not a great experiment. It took him away from the rim where he was most effective and plenty for the opposition to worry about.

Raegan has been slowly extending her range but she is still several feet short of the arc. If that is going to be a plan then she will need to work on it during the off season. I wouldn't try it now though, keep her where she is most comfortable and effective.

I think Rueck should let Pietsch play the center position on defense for about a half a quarter every game. If she blocks a few shots and grabs a bunch of rebounds, it'll give future opponents something else to worry about.

Those who have attended and got there early to watch warmups know that Raegan is not a bad three point shooter. I’m surprised she hasn’t taken one in a game yet.

I’m surprised she hasn’t taken one in a game yet. The worst idea in the history of the human race is that bigs should shoot the three so as to "open up the interior". Does not happen and you A- have someone who is not good at three's shooting them and B- Have your best rebounder (because even good shooters mostly miss the three) out on the perimeter instead of inside rebounding. WORST idea in HISTORY!!!! No, I'm not overstating it, just the facts!

Many times I've heard Scott Rueck express admiration for centers who are a threat from three and have heard him tout it as a good quality for his centers. While that doesn't mean he will scheme it that way, I think it would be foolish to have such a player, if they find themselves on the perimeter wide open (as I've often seen Raegan) and a decent 3pt shooter, not take the shot. Clearly it's not the ideal offense that he often describes... a threat down low who can kick it out to very good 3pt shooters on the perimeter. Apparently I'm not remembering the two 3 pointers that Raegan has taken before (as someone mentioned above), but I sure don't have a problem with her taking them.

If the other team is playing man and you have a big that can consistently hit threes, who comes out to get a hand in her face? If it's the other team's big who is an enforcer, a terrific rebounder, and a shot changer/blocker, I could fathom pulling them out of the key to the perimeter might occasionally be a good strategy. Especially if you have another big who might benefit with a defensive mismatch inside. I could certainly come up with several basketball ideas that are worse. Much worse.

Hey, let's let Shaq/Wilt Chamberlin take a few shots from beyond the arc. I mean, can't hurt, right?
