A panel of Division I college baseball coaches from Power-5 conferences recently responded to the question, "What are Portal transfers looking for in picking a new school".
Here is a breakdown of what the coaches are experiencing:
30.4 % are looking for improving their draft status.
21.7% are looking for NIL money.
17.5% are looking for more playing time.
17.1% are looking to transfer for other reasons ***
13.3% are looking to play in a winning program.
*** Opportunity to play as a grad student, play closer to home, play in a better climate, play with a relative or former teammate, improved relationship with a new coaching staff, etc.
