Somebody please apply the brakes. The best ever? Have they played a single down for us? Potential is a way to look at what somebody MIGHT do. I'd rather compare what they have done. IF they meet the accomplishments of oh I don't know say Brandin Cooks and Markus Wheaton (who were on the same lineup for a couple of years) then let's anoint them the greatest. We are talking about their rank as recruits. These 3 are the best 3 rated recruits we have ever had at one time. But with that said, Don't tell me not to be excited. f%#* that. All gas, no brakes. National Championship here we go! You are free to fret and worry and wring your hands and I am free to proclaim this team to be the best that will every wear the OSU uniform. The 2024 Biletnikoff winner will be a 3 way tie between 3 Oregon State University receivers. McCoy AND Johnson are going 1-2 in Heisman voting. Trust me, It is a lot more fun being up in the luxury car of the this bullet hype train, waving at all the teams as we rip by at 200mph, than sitting in the backseat of debbie downers 1982 oldsmobile cutlass ceira station wagon as it slowly but surely rattles down the road, going 52 in the fast lane. Is there an extra seat in the luxury car? Even if we go 2-10 (we won't), I am really excited to see where this team goes. There is a new enthusiasm and energy we haven't had in awhile, even when we won 10 games. New teams and destinations, and some impressive new players. Give Bray a couple of years, and were something special again. Go Beavs!!

yeah, Kitner was practically the biggest dude on the field of anybody, and he was a WR. I played FS and I distinctly remember him going up for some pass in the middle of the field, he was jumping and I just absolutely threw the entirety of my body into him with reckless abandon, and basically bounced off. I had to like, hold onto an ankle and start chewing to bring him down. He was so absurdly better than anybody else, particularly given the relative talent of the Mid Willamette Valley (the old Valley League) in the later 1990's. i do agree that I don't think he carrying the other effort into his OSU career. I think he leaned into that natural talent a little too much. Playing against him you though "Jesus, this dude is going pro!" but at OSU, he was...Okay? and that was that. Trimmer was a QB in high school, in a wing-T/flex offense, a local kid that played for Crescent Valley. At least he was QB the one time we played, he was a Soph, I think, my senior year. (I think. s%#t this stuff is almost 30 years ago now). I knew Kint, his high school/college girlfriend is one of my wife's best friends. I can tell you for sure that the opinion of his teammates was that he didn't put in the work. And then there was Keith DiDominico who walked around campus in his leather jacket chain smoking cigs, never working out, and just destroying every week in games. I knew both of those guys well, especially Keith. I worked with Shawn’s uncle, and watched him play multiple sports at a very high level. He was a fantastic all-around athlete, explosive and very gifted. The rub from anyone watching him was that he didn’t always bring the passion day to day. When he did, he was insane at the high school level. He was a talented QB, but moved outside to allow Luke Atwood to bring his special talents at the position, and to give McNary a lethal receiving threat in Tom Smythe’s entertaining offense. Then future OSU baseball player Steven Copeland moved in at QB in Shawn’s senior year, and the Celts won the state championship over Beaverton and Taylor Barton, 51-48, in what remains one of the best high school games that I’ve ever seen. Kintner was a one-man highlight reel. As for Keith, let’s just say that I believe that football truly saved him. A couple of quality, kid-focused coaches at Sprague, football coach Robin Hill and wrestling coach Kary Hadden saw his potential and that he was at-risk, and channeled it into the athletic arena. Keith’s dad was 6’7 and his mom 6’4”, and he was looking his mom in the eyes and tipping the scales closer to 200 when he entered middle school. He was angry and needed direction, and sports was the ticket. He excelled, got a college scholarship and a shot in the league. Let’s just say that chain-smoking on campus was a far better outcome than where things were headed otherwise. He may have still not been anyone’s favorite teammate, but when I ran across him several years ago just after he hung up his cleats, I was very impressed with the way that he carried himself. It’s all relative, but when viewed from the perspective of growth, he was a huge success story.

Letter of intent days were during the christmas travel season and he apparently didn't sign for some reason. Was he travelling? On his X account he describes himself as an OSU Commit. His high school QB buddy announced transferring to OSU around the 25th. On the 25th and several times since he has posted on X he has posts along the lines of being committed and excited to come to OSU, he's even visited and X'd out a message that he's in town for a visit. It is what it is. Nobody is truly in until they are in, but he sure sounds in, but we have several Beavers for life than are actually not in anymore. Nobody can guarantee you an answer.

Keith I just saw around campus, but to be clear I never heard any of his teammates say they didn't like him and I never had anything bad said about him really while I was around. James Greule was lining up on the other side of the line from Keith in practice and never said anything bad about him that I heard. He was just somewhat of an enigma (particularly with the chain smoking), they shook their heads at how good he was. I am happy to hear that he's still doing well. I didn't really know Keith's backstory but I always got the feeling that he had a rough time before he got to college.

I'd rather see him here than at a JC next fall. but then again, if the government decides college football players are employees and not just students on scholarship, why should grades matter?

Aren't grades and such a school/conference/state issue? state Universities usually have their requirements based on state requirements and certification agencies like ABET as far as I know.
