It’s hard to get excited about bad basketball. I dropped my season tickets because I couldn’t take it anymore. Obviously not super talented but even worse they do nothing to maximize the talent they do have. Unrecognizable offense, lack of basic basketball fundamentals ( spacing, ball movement, communication). Can not execute a simple 8th grade inbounds play out of a time out. They play hard but don’t mistake activity for productivity.

It’s hard to get excited about bad basketball. I dropped my season tickets because I couldn’t take it anymore. Obviously not super talented but even worse they do nothing to maximize the talent they do have. Unrecognizable offense, lack of basic basketball fundamentals ( spacing, ball movement, communication). Can not execute a simple 8th grade inbounds play out of a time out. They play hard but don’t mistake activity for productivity. Ditto - and not even sure when they are on TV, because I kept getting in trouble with The Management for yelling at the TV...... :-) Go Beavers! |

Folks here know I'm not a fan of WT, the coach, recruiter, developer of taken he gets. But, what I know of him, and the two times I've been around him and his wife in social settings he's a great human being. Obviously I could be wrong, but in no way does WT skulk off like JS if he'd had the same success.
I guess I want our programs to win and develop outstanding young men, but the more crap that's coming out about JS!?
Football being far different and the biggest $ maker maybe you put up with arse wipes a bit more.
Anyway... glad we seem to have a bunch of other classy coaches.

I was really hoping he’d be successful, but the crap recruiting off of the Elite 8 was really disappointing and really killed any chance at having sustained success. |

They play hard but don’t mistake activity for productivity. Dropped my tickets this year after having them continuously since the Brent Barry years (close to 30 years). Part of it was the win-loss record, part of it was the 100 mile RT trip to Gill on mostly dark and often rainy nights, part of it is that we are both into our 70s and part of it was that they nearly TRIPLED the price of the section we were in (Section 13, Row 3) when they required a separate donation per seat above and beyond what we give for our Football tix. We still have season tix to football, WBB, baseball and gymnastics though. |
