I have eaten there a couple of times ... yeah the burger was good and it's cool how they overfill your bag a bit with fries but it is still like $12 for just a cheeseburger and regular fries so I haven't been back in a while.

Over/under on time between opening and folding?
Just was Corvallis needs - another place to pay too much for blah burgers. At least many of the other places have a brewery attached so you can wash it down with something worth consuming...

But there are hundreds of 5 Guys restaurants across the country so they must be doing something right to stay in business. Far better than an empty building, IMHO.

Not so good I have to have it no matter what. I actually think Red Robin burgers and fries are better. But that’s just me.

Two people, ONE order of fries. I like the place because they have a long list of stuff you can load on your burger. Ought to be called a "Dagwood" burger. Everything is fresh and you know what farm today's potatoes were grown on.

Far better than an empty building, IMHO. Well, there are over 14,000 McDonald's in the US, so they, too, must be doing something right to stay in business. There, too, it ain't the fare... I've eaten at a few 5 Guys. They were, to their corporate credit, all virtually the same experience. It ain't fast food, and, to be fair, it ain't horrible food. And, yes, they are liberal with the fries. But it ain't - in my opinion - a better burger, especially without something warranting the price to wash it down. But it will probably do better biz in a college town than the Baja did. And that's the bottom line: It ain't about food. It's about business.

It drew from hundreds of Samaritan employees next door and students from the Corvallis LB campus. The owner was the problem with Baja

The owner was the problem with Baja I was curious about that... seemed like I was there not long before they shut down and the lunchtime rush seemed pretty steady. Thought it was odd that they closed.

5 Guys burgers are good because they are ultimately customizable. Tons of topping options. The fries are good too.
And you can snack on some nuts whilst waiting.
