Division 1 programs were active in B.C. harvesting some talented young pitchers. Attracting the most attention were three prospects, with two of them headed the PAC-12's way.
THEO MILLAS - BURNABY, B.C./ ECOLE ALPHA SECONDARY SCHOOL: Millas is a 6-4, 210 RHP with a 3 pitch mix that scouts say has a big upside in terms of strength and refinement. Routinely throws 89-90 with the fastball. Has played summer ball with the Diamondbacks supported Langley Blaze where he was a teammate of OSU 's Cesar Valero-Sanchez and Beaver recruit, Justin Thorsteinson. Millas is ranked #2 in British Columbia and # 191 on Perfect Games Top-500. He signed with LSU.
JACK SEWARD - PORT MOODY B.C./ PORT MOODY SECONDARY SCHOOL: Seward is a 6-3, 185 RHP and like Millas, is considered to have a high ceiling once he no longer splits his time in the outfield. Shows a 88-89 mph fastball with a hard slider at 83-84. Played for the Toronto Blue Jays Scout Team last summer. Ranked # 4 in B.C. and #431 on the PG Top-500. Committed to Oregon or San Jacinto CC if the transcript doesn't fly.
JUSTIN THORSTEINSON - LANGLEY B.C./ LANGLEY SECONDARY SCHOOL: Thorsteinson is a 6-4, 210 LHP that sits on a 89-91 mph heater with two secondary pitches. He's also a polished first baseman that one scouting service noted, "has the potential to be the best two-way player in Canada" Justin can hit! PLays summer ball with the D'Backs Langley Blaze and last summer was selected to play on the Canadian National (Junior) Team with Cesar Valero-Sanchez and Micah McDowell. Currently ranked #7 in B.C. and #500 on the PG-500. Perfect game isn't quite sure how to rank him - they have had him at #2 and #3 in BC, and numbers 115/166/407 and 500 on the National US-Canada ranking. He's ranked #247 on the Prep Baseball Report National 500. Justin signed with Oregon State.
