College bullpens are not nearly as deep and MLB or MiLB pens. Why not stay with a guy who just had one dominant inning instead of going to a new guy, then another new guy etc.,

Well we did have Pat Bailey to offer input. From what I have seen little mistakes have caused some of the problems. Casey!s play-when we were ahead. Not Bunting to advance runners. Not hitting behind to advance runners. And use of pitchers. He needs to manage like it is College and not Minor League. Hope He learns from these things and others folks have mentioned

There are exactly zero quality starts on the stat sheets from last season for this roster. Zero. ZIP. Find the starters. That will sort itself out after the first couple weeks. Mulholland is a guy you have to look at unless you want a freshman to start, and at least one of the regular posterson here, regularly had blasted Yeskie for not breaking freshmen in slowly. Verburg is still out with the injury suffered under the Yeskie watch.
Guess what? Zero starters return so you test to find the starters. Coach is doing just that. Really damned near zip for experience in the pen. So maybe the Mulholland experiment won't work. We will have a clear picture soon.
As for Sebby being the long relief guy, I hoe. But Coach is handling that exactly right. I take it that nobody noticed the number of innings Sebby pitched last year at the JC and summer ball. By the end of summer his fastball was a blazing 84mph. Can you say tired arm? Coach is bringing him back perfectly unless you want dead arm quickly.

Ill surely catch hell for saying this, but I've never stopped believing that Yeskie, not Canham, would easily have been the best, most logical hire. That was an eminently winnable game yesterday if the Beavs had had a college-ball experienced coaching staff in the dugout. And had more experienced relievers been used in that late-game situation. There’s a lot more to D1 coaching than coaching. Need the personality to interact with fans and media. Saw him at a Hot Stove night with the Corvallis Knights answering questions from fans. Let’s just say he’s a great pitching coach but the other aspects weren’t his forte and I thought then he’d never be the Beaver head coach.

Just say you have bad hands and drop it... Like many comparison/extrapolation mode opinions here, it can never be proven. But, if you think it I'm betting others do to. The pitching decisions made are easily questioned when a game ends such as it did! I believe Nate would be better in the near term, but long term I believe Mitch has more upside.
