I watched 3 of the 4 games in surprise. None of the Beav batters looked good againsta slow pitch or curveball. Just wondering if maby they don't see a good selection of pitches in Corvallis prior to the start of the season?

Just wondering if maby they don't see a good selection of pitches in Corvallis prior to the start of the season? Pretty normal to get the full mix, FB, curve and change-up, and they have scouting reports on all the pitchers they are going to face. But you can be sure that whatever the mix they had before, they might have a higher ratio of curves this week at any batting practice. I'm also hoping that some of our fireballers can mix a few more curves in, and are working on better movement on their fastballs - a straight diet of fastballs often leads to long at bats as the better hitters foul and foul till they either catch up to one or draw a walk. We know we have pitchers that can throw hard for a strike, now it's time to see them expand the zone and also drop in the 61 ft change-up/slider. I have a feeling we are really going to miss Adley behind the plate - he blocked so many purpose buried pitches.
