No Warren, the check swing appeal is not automatic. If ump doesn't see it for sure (a lot of action in front of him, piss for angle, and depending on his framing position) he will (as he should) ask for help. Close is tough.

Beavs up in the 7th
McGarry doubles off the wall. Let’s bring him home, boys! Ober takes the walk. Runners on 1st and 2nd, no out. Casey bunts toward the pitcher. Bobbled. Poor throw. Everybody safe! Balk is called. Runners advance. 3-1 beavers. Claunch grounds to short. Short throws out Ober at 3rd. Runners on 1st and 2nd. 1 out.
Pitcher change.
Duke gets a single, scoring Casey. 4-1 Beavs. Wild pitch. Runners advance to second and third for AA. AA grounds to short who throws home and gets Claunch in a run down. 2 out. Runners on 1st and 2nd. Richie M strikes out.
End of 7th. 4-1 Beavs

First two out of the innings were at 3rd. Ober and Claunch can’t be caught like that.

Mitch is 3rd base coach, but you are coached from the beginning to make sure it's through on the shortstop side without a force situation. Two people getting caught like that in one inning is bad bad base running.

Sorry, but the dog says it’s time to play ball. Play by play is on hold.

Classic Jon Warren.
It's a fly ball! And it's gone! A home run for McGarry! Or is it? He's in with a triple. And he's out.

Nice bounce back game by the Beav’s. Pfennig looks good and McDowell is doing great defense in center. Nice to see some freshman stepping up in the college level

Thanks, Irimi. And thanks to 56Beaver. I thought his analysis of Hjerpe wouldn't come through, but Hjerpe is exactly what he described. If Dorman gets the signals in a little faster, Hjerpe could throw a 2 hour game. Not knocking Dorman, but I like pitchers that get the ball and are ready to throw. He may need the d elay.
Pfennigs obviously pitched well. Hit his spots. The big outside corner may have been taken advantage of a little sooner. Good bounce back win.

Classic Jon Warren. It's a fly ball! And it's gone! A home run for McGarry! Or is it? He's in with a triple. And he's out. He had two imaginary homers today. Someone in the booth needs to grab him by the ears and pull it out.
