My buddy and I talked with former Beav baseball player Ron Dyer at PDX as we got ready to board our flight for Phoenix. He played in the late 70’s when I was at OSU. It was fun to wax nostalgically. While we talked, another fan that was heading down mentioned a Beaver tailgater on Saturday before the game near the entrance to the stadium. This was probably mentioned earlier, but I hadn’t heard about it until yesterday.
Looking forward to getting rolling tomorrow. Also looking forward to nice weather. Today we hiked at White Tanks Regional Park west of Surprise. 70 degree weather, bright blue sky, beautiful scenery. I could get used to this in February. The forecast is pretty consistently like this all weekend. Looks like we hit this just right.

If it’s a tailgate in the parking lot, go. If it’s the one put on by the alumni association, skip it unless you like middle school cafeteria food that they run out of anyway and promised special guests who don’t show up.

We didn’t ask for details, other than hearing that the woman was part of the group putting it on. I’ll consider your advice though. I went to the pre-game tailgater in Columbus before the football game that the alumni hosted and thought the food was great, but maybe it’s different for baseball. In my career I had a few lunches in middle school cafeterias, and I can do without that type of cuisine!

Anyone know if there’s a ‘bigger than normal’ tailgate deal in parking lot today (Saturday)?
