With the current information we have and a bit of reasonable speculation, we should see six pitchers, two catchers, five infielders and one outfielder enroll at OSU for fall term.
Three considerations were made for this class; 1) RHP Mick Abel is now ranked by six scouting services as either the #1 or #2 prep pitcher off the board in the June draft. Abel and Jared Kelley from Refugio, Texas are 1-2 depending on which service you are looking at. Mick is slotted between the 5th and 10th player selected in the first round of the draft. Those prognostications are dependent of course on his "signability". I don't think we can include him because of the money involved. 2) I don't think we should count on OF Rohan Wright making it almost 3,000 miles west from Tallahassee, Florida to be a preferred walk-on. It would be beneficial if there was any recent information on him, but I've never understood this recruitment. It didn't make sense but I could be wrong - right now, we're guessing. 3) We had a commitment from IF Alejandro Cazorla - Granados who plays for the Okotoks Baseball Academy in Calgary, Alberta. Carzorla won't be here in the fall, he'll be playing at Bossier Parrish C.C. in Bossier City, Louisiana.
With those three class considerations, these are the 14 "rookies" we can expect in the fall.
