And you absolutely can bring in outside food with no need to disguise it at all. Last year was the first year though, that they banned metal water bottles. Hydroflasks and the like had to be taken back to your car. Plastic and Nalgene okay.

Tomorrow begins a week long sojourn into somewhat warmer climes...ending in Surprise AZ, first pitch in less than 9 days! Forecast on opening day (2/14) has been 'down-graded' to a cool 58 degree high temp (though approaching 70 by the end of the 4 game set). Go Beavs! img.auctiva.com/imgdata/1/6/0/4/5/4/4/webimg/1050826923_o.jpg

Last February, in total, tied 1998 as the coldest February since 1975. Hopefully, it is warmer this year!

Nothing like last year.

Will the team get the standing ovation from 2000 plus before game one that they got last year?

Everything I've seen on pre-season polls has the Beavs sitting just outside the Top-25 nationally. The vibe I get is, We think you could be good but there are some unanswered questions in our minds. The most frequently mentioned questions seem to be directed at last year's lack of offense compared to preceding OSU teams, the change in program leadership, Yeskie's departure, impact of Rutschman's departure and challenging schedule that includes the PAC-12 slate, Oklahoma State, SDSU and Mississippi State on the road. There appears to be universal agreement that we have good pitching, starters and bullpen. A strong showing over the 4 games in Surprise may erase some of the doubts the writers have expressed in the pre-season analysis and prognostication. This is one differs slightly from others but makes the point -"we're not sure". From D1baseball.com Oregon State It’s a new era in many ways in Corvallis. In addition to having a new head coach in Mitch Canham, the Beavers no longer have heralded pitching coach Nate Yeskie and had plenty of turnover from a personnel standpoint. I feel good about the weekend rotation with Christian Chamberlain, Jake Pfennigs and Jake Mulholland leading the way, but the bullpen is somewhat of a question mark as the season nears. The offense has some solid pieces, too, with the return of Troy Claunch, Andy Armstrong, Alex McGarry and Jake Dukart, but somewhat must step up and evolve into that star player who can lead the Beavers to higher places. OSU could be much better than expected, but there definitely are questions abound. This is not an unfair assessment.

The preponderance of questions surrounding this Beaver team will be answered in the batter's box.
Will they hit?
More to the point, can they hit?

The preponderance of questions surrounding this Beaver team will be answered in the batter's box. Will they hit? More to the point, can they hit? They can hit! Will they hit consistently enough to score runs on a regular basis? Who knows... Claunch will hit. Zalesky will hit. The trio of Casey, Harvey and McDowell all have looked great at times, Burns and Hjerpe have shut them down on the last two Saturdays. Gretler, Dukart and McGarry struck the ball well at times last night, none of them faced Hjerpe. McMahan has been putting himself in the mix of productive innings. Boyd, Valero Sanchez, Young and McLaughlin have all shown enough promise to get a chance at some point.

Here now. But I had to be up and moving early as flight boarded at 0500. The Global Entry interview took less than 5 minutes. Basically fingerprints. The officer thanked me for being a good American.
5 minutes from the stadium. On the patio watching gophers mis%#t balls into the cacti and brown grass/dirt. I am in jeans. It's a bit cool at 67 degrees. Just like Honey badger the boys of summer don't care
