San Diego is a great place to visit. Lots to do and a real safe environment. Great food and things to see in every section of town.

San Diego is a great place to visit. Lots to do and a real safe environment. Great food and things to see in every section of town. San Diego has the fifth-largest homeless population in the country. The downtown is very sketchy in parts. If you can dodge the hobos, though, it is one of the safest cities in the country.

Am in SD for the winter, so will be at a couple of the games. If you like Indian food, this place is excellent: himalayancuisineone.com But, don't tell anyone it's a small place and I don't want to wait! Your secret is safe with me.

It feels like a LOT of southern california cities have large pockets of homelessness.

Thanks for the heads up. It feels like a LOT of southern california cities have large pockets of homelessness. Makes sense. Where would you go if you were homeless...SoCal or Minneapolis? I know where I'd be, but you'd be surprised how many don't migrate or move. I was hugely surprised by the number of homeless in downtown Missoula. And we're talking cold there too.
