I guess I don't understand the global strategy of it all. Do they think they will get on the major networks? I certainly don't see it making a huge difference in national interest. It's not like football fans in Texas are going to watch Cal v Utah over Oklahoma or Ohio State. Seems like a desperation move as much as anything. Makes the P12 look like the whores they are! This season for instance: Week one - Northwestern at Stanford Week two - Nebraska at Colorado Week three- Oklahoma at UCLA All would be viable games of national interest if they were the first game of the day back east. I do suspect all of these games will be televised, but at mid-day they are going up against several other games. I don't think they are thinking just any matchup at 9am will do.

Again, as I understand it, the noon EDT game is something Fox is rolling out. Kind of like a "game of the week" thing that puts the biggest match-up of the week on national television. If OSU were to qualify to be involved in one of these broadcasts, a 9 a.m. kick-off would be a great "problem" to have. Go Beavs!! (edit) I'm trying to decide which item I would sacrifice to see the Beavs in one of these games.......left nut or first born.........

I will say, though, that I am excited to see the Rambling Wreck and their gimmicky offense play ultra-talented Clemson in Death Valley the day before Oklahoma State invades Reser (my wife has termed this the "Halloweentown Bowl," because of the colors involved). When Georgia Tech's offense is clicking, it is fun to see them humiliate talented defenses. Stopping the Wreck in game 1 is a big ask for the Tigers. Both of those games are must-see TV in my book. Clemson finished first in the Atlantic, and Georgia Tech finished second in the Coastal in 2018 and are each other's biggest conference rival. The two teams went 13-2 against all of the other teams in the ACC (both losses by Georgia Tech). In my opinion, Louisville and pretty much anyone (with the possible exception of non-conference Kentucky) is an example of a dull ACC game this year. Oh I agree, it would be a fun game to watch. But nobody with Comcast or Dish is getting it, and I have a hard time believing there's a lot of pacific northwesterners with their pitchforks out demanding that ACCN be carried or they're moving to DirecTV.

Will post on the ticket board also... For those with previous season tix... dropped them... thinking about renewing... OSU is offering "comped" tix to the OkSt game!! Comped tix will be of equal value, same number as your season tix last year, and placed as close to your original seats as possible. You can chose to move to a new section/location to try them out. If you had a BASF donation attached it is a great time to try a new section for a game and see if you like it... maybe a cheaper section? No BASF? Valley View... great seats, chair back, it's own concourse/concessions... $205 season tix no BASF. If you chose to buy season tix after OkSt they will be prorated for 5 games the week after the game. Chance to keep being a season ticket holder and reduce your financial outlay. GO BEAVS... One small correction. BASF no longer exists having been renamed as OBN = Our Beaver Nation.

I agree with almost everything that you say, especially Crank It Like a Chainsaw. I thought that that was gimmicky and stupid enough to be huge. They totally gave up on Crank it like achainsaw too early. I for one loved it and so did my kids. It's just you old farts that didn't like it BTW... Family Force 5 has over 10 million views of the song on youtube: (Music video version) What Oregon State Video has more? Hint: NONE... none of them even have a tenth

Two things could be done for 9 AM kickoffs when it involves Pac-12 opponents. The first is to have that be the start time when we play at Utah or Colorado. The second is to discount the heck out of the tickets for a 9 AM game. BiMart 2-for-1, $10 general admission, whatever. People get up extra early for Black Friday so why not get up extra early for a Beaver Black Saturday?
We could find an Eastern Time Zone non-conference team wanting a noon local kickoff too. For something really wild, why not move a Pac-12 game to the Meadowlands for a High Noon Shootout? ASU early in the season would like to get out of Tempe with the same to be said about Arizona and Tucson. USC is a guaranteed draw in the Big Apple. Even if we are just the tag-along team, a good showing by us in front of the East's media center would be nice. Oregon put up a poster for J5P in Times Square. We can put out an entire team on the field! Besides, recruiting in the Northeast might be interesting. Bitter cold winters and hot humid summers when compared to the relatively mild weather of the Willamette Valley might sell some stud on going West if our level of play can promise a shot at winning.
When life hands you lemons, make lemonade, franchise the heck out of it, then collect the profits...LOL!
Holding the line to one game a year for 9 AM kickoffs was mentioned and is a good idea.

That's where the views come from.
It was also widely used as an "animation chainsaw meme" in 2017.
It's not an "Oregon State" song any more than AC/DC is.
Wait-AC/DC isn’t? The last few years I swore our song was Problem Child!

What's wrong with a "church camp" song? All you really mean by that is that it is a "hype" song, just like Thunderstruck or Timmy Trumpet or any of the other "hype" songs we have and still do play. Unless you are trying to say that you found out the original artists are (very) lightly Christian and, even though the song has zero mention of any religion or God, that offends you some how? How it was used after we abandoned it doesn't really mean much, who cares if it is a meme now.... except for the fact that it COULD HAVE BEEN OUR MEME. Just look at the marketing job our current president has done. There really is no such thing as bad publicity. And this isn't bad or evil it is just quirky and fun. But, it is just another example of OSU taking the extreme middle, vanilla, "we better not upset even 1% of out fanbase" approach. Missing the boat, and not taking advantage of the few creative ideas they DO finally come up with. Even for you all that hate it, at least you would be complaining about a dumb song and no the terrible product on the field for a few minutes each game

Roboduck > 2007 Oregon State Uniforms And Roboduck was dreadful. You can hate on "Crank It Like a Chainsaw" all you like, but I doubt that anything will ever be more embarrassing than the 2007 Oregon State uniforms.

Those beavs outplayed those unis and were a force in the conference. They turned the sports bras into halter tops of FEAR
