You're certainly entitled to your state of confusion. You kind of miss the point ... The University of Oregon is in Eugene. Eugene is as liberal or more liberal than Corvallis. Oregon just won the Pac-12 Basketball Tournament. Liberals can support a winning Pac-12 athletic department. OSU has many other successful athletic teams. How are those teams successful in the face of the great liberal anti-sport bias in Corvallis / Benton County? Answer that question and you can help me understand the influence of liberal political leanings on athletic success in a collegiate athletic department. Sorry, Eugene is not liberal. Pretentious pseudo-liberals at best.

Kudos... those of us that don't support nor accept mediocrity are ignored by the Admin and excused into oblivion on here as being too critical. Hypocritical as it is... fine Admin, I'll donate outside the athletic department, cease and divest from my 3rd major sport for season tix... 18 total seats plus fees. Last year I could have attended every home game in equal or better seats x 6 than my season ticket fee. Basketball (men's and women's) is far less. If the $ are going to be misused/appropriated (didn't realize how poorly) then screw it... I’m kind of a big deal. My office is full of leather bound books and smells of rich mahogany. Ha.... I also own a mansion un a yacht ! ..... i own a mansion un a yacht !…

Pretentious pseudo-liberals at best. Wow! Let's try this again ... political leanings of a community have NOTHING to do with the success of a collegiate athletic department. Base upon your characterization of Corvallis / Benton County as a "pseudo liberal" environment, you need to explain how that has negatively affected OSU Baseball, OSU Women's Basketball, OSU Women's Gymnastics, OSU Men's & Women's Golf, OSU Men's Soccer, and other OSU sports. These sports are all part of the OSU Athletic Department. Yet somehow the "pseudo liberals" are preventing success in OSU athletics. Your assessment of a liberal community (right or wrong) is is still not a factor in the success of OSU athletics. BTW, if you asked any objective political observer they would characterize Eugene as liberal - not "pseudo liberal".

I want a clean, academically successful program full of true student athletes. I want high character coaches that are good role models in the community. I think we are getting that.
I would like us to be participating in the NIT and NCAA, say three years out of five. I get completely depressed when its time to fill out brackets (NCAA or NIT) and I have no "skin in the game". (Point of reference - I was attending OSU during GP-I years, so I have known the pleasure of seeing "Oregon State" on tourney brackets 3 years in a row.......known a lot of resulting pain, but at least I had irrationally exuberant brackets filled out involving OSU in my past). That seems like a lifetime ago. Not sure if these coaches (or their sons) will get us there. Not sure what the issues are, but some of it is around leadership (both player and coach). This season was one of the most opportune to get back to the post-season, and we went out with a whimper in a weak Pac-12. Go Beavers!

Back to EXPECTATIONS:
WBB - post-season with potential deep run. Baseball - post-season with EXPECTED deep run. Men's BB - not a frickin' thing. FB - not a frickin' thing.
