Wait for it... '... this is a game we would have lost last year"... We probably would have. We had one game today, on the road, and we won. I'm happy. There is no such thing as a bad win. True... every win is good (except if a significant injury occurs I guess). And, this team needs every W it is supposed to get. It's just that some are meaningless in terms of what they actually represent in the bigger scheme.

Other than they got the W, it is very hard to find anything good about that game. Interior defense was absolutely terrible. If Kelley hadn't had 5 blocks it would have been even worse, though despite the blocks Kelley's defense was pretty sad too. Best thing I saw was some glimmer of potential as far as Campbell goes. Thankfully Beavs shot well from the line or this could have been a loss -- a very bad loss. Other than the win? That's an odd perspective. We won a road game - something that has been extremely rare of late. Stanford lost in that gym last year. I am more than comfortable with winning every game by 3 points as long as we do, in fact, get the win. Are we where we need to be for conference play? No. But are we 5-1 and still on track for making a run at the postseason? Absolutely. We could be Utah and have lost by 22 to Northwestern today.

We were supposed to win, and did. Check that box. And if today is the difference between 20 and 21 wins, and one fewer possible "bad" loss, I'd say this helps us in the bigger scheme. So I'll check that box. Yes, it would have been nice to blow them out. But most teams, even bad ones, play appreciably better at home than on the road. LBSU shot horribly but it did not appear we had anything to do with that.So when the other team shoots well, it's because we don't play good D. When they don't, though, our D has nothing to do with it. Keep moving those goalposts.

No. This team will not make the tourney unless some significant progress is made. I am liking KK, much better hands than GR, but does need to work on footwork. Not much to add beyond that, same game we have seen the last couple years. Need more intensity on d, and a better offensive plan. We have the players.

The W was good, but their play was terrible. I have no problem with it not being a blowout and only a 3 point win except for the fact that if they keep playing like that there is a good chance they finish the non-conference schedule losing 4 of next 6. And that probably doesn't keep the Beavs on track for postseason play.

First, if we were Utah we'd not be picked 10th or lower in the Pac12. We'd have three 4* frosh and the Juco POY on our roster and a proven coach. Second, NW is a much much better team than LBSt Third, 5-1 vs our OOC schedule means squat for Pac12 play. Utah I believe was at UMinn, NW at neutral, going to Kentucky, vs BYU and Nevada. I'd say a bit more challenging after losing (4) starters. So... yeah... I'd take being in Utah's shoes... any time soon would be fine.

You like to group quotes from multiple posters to attempt to make clever retorts. Is it just laziness to not reply to the poster who indeed made the remark? Or do you just hope that others don't really read all the posts and think you know what you are talking about? Let me know when this W is the difference between win #20 and win #21.

We have the players. footwork? i actually see KK rolling to the rim after setting a pick and doing it the right way by sealing off the underneath with a long step. I see KK shuffling his feet when he is playing zone instead of coming to a dead stop. I see him doing other things fundamentally correct to like as soon as he gets the rebound he looks to throw the outlet pass. And he passes with two hands! which is usually a problem with young big men. I wish our guys would look for him on the roll more. Will he develop a shot? Does he need one at this point i don't know. He gets the ball down low and tries to keep his leverage and shoot as close as he can to the glass. He is playing within himself and hustling. No turnovers today. As soon as he went out of the game LBS state went back inside. He had 5 blocks! How many times did Drew ever have 5 blocks in a game?

School and other issues always brought up, but maybe Drew chose to move on so he could actually touch the ball more?

Limited post moves and awful passes out of double-teams. No, he in fact didn’t like school

I should have clarified; it looks to me he gets pushed around on both ends of the court. He can avoid some of that with better footwork. He does great despite that, especially since our posts are asked to pick up guards/wings dribbling freely into the lane. I am a KK fan. It is clear to me he should be our starter come conference play.

I'd say we need to start two bigs (Big G and KK) on most nights vs "my three sons" and Hollins or ZR.

Maybe better to make sure he is still available at the end of games.
