Thank you Squonk for the wiki link i feel more enlightened but none the wiser, so nope never challenged someone to a game of horse but I feel a challenge coming on next weekend when i can get on a court and see if the old bones will agree. It would be more like a game of old horse meets older horse and both need putting down - I'll let yo know how it turns out. I haven’t played HORSE in a long, long time so maybe kids just don’t play it anymore. Perhaps it’s gone the way of record stores and public pay phones.

A couple of the ball kids at the women's games play horse when the girls are in the locker room. One of the little guys can hit threes regularly.

That's Coach Rueck's son (short boy, dark hair, go figure!) Not left-handed though.

As I've said before, and as I'll say again, and contrary to all the skeptical naysayers on this board who like to trash every optimistic voice about the incoming recruits: She has the highest basketball IQ and most high level experience of any freshman EVER to enroll at OSU. She will be a big contributor in her first year, almost certainly on the all-Pac12 freshman team. She is Pivec on steroids. She is faster, can jump higher, is a better rebounder and passer, and is more aggressive than Pivec. Even though just 5'11, she should be playing small forward for us. The learning curve for her will be about 3 days long. All you grumps out there will be in for a big surprise. And if you disagree, then put it in writing so we can post your idiocy for all to see at the end of the season. Thickhead has been wrong before with his unrealistic and overly enthusiastic pronouncements. That is why many of us on this forum are a bit wary about seeing in print that a fan has proclaimed that an incoming frosh has the highest basketball IQ of any freshman ever to enroll at OSU. However, I do think that all of Beaver Nation will embrace the effort level and toughness that Simmons will bring to the Beavs during her career. Simmons will need to learn to play OSU defense the way that Scott Rueck and the coaching staff demand. A player in the OSU system can't gamble and frequently attempt to get steals. If you are out of the proper defensive rotation position in an attempt to make a steal, you will soon find yourself on the bench. That learning process may delay her impact as a frosh, but I do agree that she will bring some tools that Rueck will be able to put to use early in '18-'19 season. I am not trying to be a "skeptical naysayer" or a "grump" as suggested by Thickhead above. I consider myself to be very optimistic as to how well the Beavs will fare next season. I am simply trying to allow a talented frosh from another country to come in and do her thing without being subject to unrealistic expectations put forth by a poster that appears to be a little less than objective. Simmons has not played a minute at the D1 level as yet. I have seen plenty of video on Simmons and like what she should be able to bring to the table for the Beavs. Thickhead should feel free to re-post my "idiocy" at the end of the '18-'19 season if his predictions about the immediate success of the incoming freshman guard from Australia are anywhere close to being accurate.

Okay, my use of the word "idiocy" was a bit flagrant. But I am taking names. One of these days I'm going to be right, you just watch! Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

Don't forget the bouncing bullets. Very useful when Ktmac and Mic start hurling passes at you early in the morning before you've had your coffee.

IIRC, the best program qualifies the student athletes to participate in practices and instruction from staff. There are other benefits and advantages as well.

IIRC, the best program qualifies the student athletes to participate in practices and instruction from staff. There are other benefits and advantages as well. BEST Summer Bridge Program 2018 BEST* Summer Bridge Program for Incoming OSU First-Year Student Athletes The BEST Summer Bridge Program is an immersion program designed to help new student athletes adapt to the college environment by learning to balance academics and sports. It as an effective jump-start for collegiate careers. The program includes daytime, evening and weekend activities. Full participation in all aspects of the program is required. Some of the significant components of the program are: Six Credits Toward Graduation: Student athletes take two courses. 1) a Baccalaureate Core Course that fulfills the social science requirement for graduation and strengthens critical thinking, expression, and communication skills. 2) an ALS seminar that targets academic success strategies, socio/cultural awareness, and successful transition. In both courses, student athletes have support from professors, learning assistants, tutors, and residence hall assistants. Residential Experience: As part of the enriched learning experience, all BEST students live on the 2nd floor of Bloss Hall which is conveniently located near the BEST classrooms, athletic facilities, and dining halls. Group Activities: Because the BEST program focuses on holistic development, students engage in unique weekend learning experiences. Participation in these weekend activities is required of all BEST students. University Orientation: The BEST experience includes OSU’s first-year student orientation, advising, and fall class registration program known as START. START registration is included as part of enrollment in BEST. Athletic Orientation, Workouts, and Performance Table: Following clearance from the Sports Medical staff, BEST students are issued OSU workout gear, given a thorough orientation to the Sports Performance Center, and begin workouts with teammates. Also, all BEST students eat at the Athletic Department “Performance Table” with other student athletes where they begin to learn about the nutritional requirements of college athletes from the Athletic Department nutritionist. Assessments: BEST offers a variety of assessments in order to design a program of support appropriate for each student. Assessments include academic evaluations of math, writing, and reading as well as an inventory of learning styles. The Sports Medical staff conducts all NCAA required exams and procedures.

Glad to see that the new young ladies on campus are making friends quickly at OSU! Also, first photographic evidence I've seen that Jazz is actually at OSU I wonder when official practices start. Gals will probably need to start new strength and conditioning regimens too in order play at this next level, but from instagram pics posted by Jazz, she looks to be very fit already, including 6 pack abs.
More evidence of Jazz on campus!
