kwan did not go first to third on Cayden's two out bloop single to centerfield. 2 outs, going on contact. terrible jump ! Stanford pitcher throws a pitch to the backstop on the next batter. also adley making the final out of the inning at 3rd with either a steal or messed up hit and run. judging from how far Casey's hat flew, hard to believe that was called from the dugout. oh well, 2 of 3 from the trees

Ok, watching from TV we couldn't tell if the Runners were moving on the 3/2 count. If they were, one of the most boneheaded decisions I have ever seen from the Beav's. Not making contract, not good, but not giving someone else a chance to win the game would be just down town stupid. Just saying..........

No.... we really lost this game early...... 6 walks.... 2 HBP..... 107 pitches in 4 innings plus 2-0 next batter. That all was where we really lost this game. 8 free bases. Tough to win against any decent team with that. It set the tone.

Tough to win against any decent team with that. It set the tone. You’re wrong. Abel wasn’t great today, but we had a 4 run lead with 4 innings to play. Our bullpen should be able to hold that lead. My biggest issue is that we let Chamberlain pitch in the 8th. He gave up a single and a walk before we went to Jake. I’d rather Jake have started that inning. If you’re willing to let him go 6 outs then let him start with a clean slate instead of having to clean someone else’s mess up. That run in the 8th gave Stanford the hope they needed heading to the 9th.

Didn’t we have a man on 3rd with less than 2 outs multiple times and come up empty?

I hope no one blames me! I tuned in with the Beavs up 6-4 after 6.5 innings. The wheels flew off at that point.....My daughter was refering to me as "Jonah" after the final out. Go Beavs!!

It was a lot of things. To the original post, it was a hit and run, trying to avoid the GIDP. Sometimes that play back fires.
Kwan held at second after his base running mishap Saturday.
What really hurts was Abel’s short outing. If a starter can’t get five innings, it puts a lot of work on the bullpen. Making guys pitch longer than planned.

The bullpen pitched all of two innings in the previous two games. They were rested and should have been able to bring us home.

On occasion, a pitcher is in the pen because the other team can pick his stuff up easily in their second go around in the order.

Im concerned that dugout isnt in the game to win. It appears they are more concerned with developing players, putting them in position to fail with the hope they will perform. Thinking that if they can get them through these tough spots they can contribute in the playoffs. Then again, im not a coach..

I would say that was exactly the case with our Starter. The week before he had command and looked real good. In this game it was clear from start he was struggling throwing strikes. To make it to Omaha it looks like Abel or Gambrell have to really step up or we get kicked out. We must face the fact that the BP does not have a lock down thrower.

I am going to trust PC and his staff. Letting Abel throw in an evvironment that was as close to a Super as you can get will pay dividends during the tourney. I think everyone's focus is to get a national seed and win at Omaha and to do that we need to develop pitchers. Chamberlain and Abel will be better for having faced #2 with all the hype of the series.
Say what you want... Abel didn't have control, and pitched behind I the count all day, but only gave up one run. Not bad for facing #2 Stanford.
