With zero April signings when does Wayne have on campus tryouts again?

Dang. We coulud have used an experienced point guard. Unfortunately, the low hanging fruit has been picked long ago.

IMO WT and his staff have been failures at recruiting during their time at OSU. They are not attracting enough Pac-12 players to win. Since WT is probably safe for another year or two he might want to shake up his staff and bring in some fresh recruiting blood. It is not working now.

Since WT is probably safe for another year or two he might want to shake up his staff and bring in some fresh recruiting blood. It is not working now. You're kinda hard on Tinkle and crew in my opinion. His recruiting has been fine all things considered. He inherited a team that has been a crappy team for 20 years, and arguably has outperformed every coach since Miller retired. How bad was the team? Every starter was gone when he got here. He inherited 1 guy that averaged 4 points a game, and two others that scored 2-3 points a game. Take away his kid and the Thompson boys, as and he's still recruited more kids that received 4 stars on one or another recruiting service than any OSU basketball coach since the star system came up. He's on just his 4th full recruiting cycle since being hired. McLoughlin and Bruce transferred out so he lost two fairly talented point guards, and Mcloughlin's and Manuel's transfers were recently enough that it likely affects plans for this class. Of the guys he's recruited Stacy and Dew were probably his only real "mistakes", and I'm not so sure Stacy was a mistake as he played some good minutes this last season. Injuries happen, and has affected this team. These days transfers happen, I think losing JaQuori and Manuel sting at this point. I've seen him bring in maybe 2 players that probably don't belong at this level. That ain't bad for a team that's been a bottom dweller more or less since '86. OSU isn't paying the kind of $$ to bring in a snazzy "name" coach, or cheating (I'm thinking bringing in kids who were kicked out of other universities for sexualscandals follows into that category), to turn it around in 2-3 years. It's really tough to legitimately criticize the recruiting job they've done so far in my opinion.

I don't find it tough to legitimately criticize. For instance, coming on an NCAA tournament year, Tinkle delivered this class: www.oregonlive.com/recruiting/index.ssf/2016/05/oregon_state_beavers_basketbal_4.html Note that recruiting doesn't stop at signing and star numbers. Bringing in players and having them subsequently not develop and/or leave is a recruiting failure. Tinkle set the standard himself - I don't want to hear about what he inherited. He took the program to the Dance, so he's proven it can be done at OSU. If he's not able do deliver further trips to the tourney at OSU, then his seven-figure salary needs to go to someone else. I don't have issues with him losing a recruiting battle with Louisville, I have problems that we're this late in the recruiting season and we appear to be down to a prayer on filling a huge gap on the roster that has been known for a long time.
