My impression based on nothing at all is Az likes the fastball. That is why they had trouble with Fehmel
and salazar is All Pac 12 catcher last year? Shallow pool

Appears Luke is 3,4,5... FB getting hammered. Great to be able to see your on-site observations...but a (possibly) stupid question: what is 3,4,5 ? Not stupid... but, accused of arrogance enough I hesitate to explain before being asked. Plate is basically 7 baseballs wide. 1 inside black, 7 outside black... 3,4,5 are piped. Without movement expect to get hit there... on any pitch unless you are simply over matching the hitter. The key to effectiveness and the difference in Luke... balls need to look like strikes, strikes like balls. Luke is serving it up, hitters ate not having to think... especially with 2 strikes. 5 hits in an inning is getting teed up. |

TERRIBLE call at 3B... throw arrived before runner began his slide. Tag was there... sitting right above to the OF side... Gretler wasn't forceful but it's a bad call. runner was safe |

Its like Arizona knows what pitch is coming. They are getting some real healthy cuts at all of Heimlichs pitches.

It seems he has slowed down between pitches and letting hitters getting settled in. Wonder if that's what Casey came out to the mound to talk about. |

The reason it seems like they know what is coming is because they are sitting dead red on the fastball and ol Nate for some unknown reason is calling for mostly fastballs. It doesn't help that Luke is leaving them up some. For *&*&% sakes Nate go to the breaking balls.

Case in point.....fastball on a 3-2 count with an open base. Base hit to right plates two runs. Nate has not had a good year.

Something like 9 Shot out of 12 or 13 Hitters. In fact I don't think I have ever seen anything like that.

No matter... Luke has an unbelievably high pitch count, we need to score runs off an average staff, so the BP needs to show up tonight.
And, Nate needs to get as many up to give different looks as possible. Eff Sunday... you need this one
