Tuesday would be his regular day workout in the bullpen so I assume that the coach decided to let me throw to the last two batters live, thinking it would only be a couple and I think the hitter was left-handed. Removal of Pearce is a head-scratcher, but I think the thought process was two batters and go home and Luke would benefit from the live action. Throwing a bullpen session is different than throwing in a live game. No feeling of pressure in a bullpen session. A lot more pressure in a live game. Definitely not even close to the same.

Increased velocity results in a higher spin rate of the baseball, a sharper breaking, tighter wrap on a breaking pitch and more movement on the fastball. Not the opposite. Changing the release point? Really? And the balance point is at the moment of pause when balanced on one leg prior to moving forward into the delivery. Balance point has nothing to do with the lead or plant foot. This smacks of voodoo medicine - are you a softball coach? Watch baseball on T.V.? And by the way, Luke touched 93 in Surprise, camped on 91-92 and I had a good discussion with two scouts and their take on Luke's "increase in velocity" this year. They didn't see it. LMAO... I'll not get into a pitching mechanics debate from an online self proclaimed bsseball guru whom I'm betting has coached very little, at least at a level where players have gone on to college and beyond. But, will reply once since you turned from guru to the "only guy in the room who knows baseball"... and has a need to disparage during the attempt. As shown by one single phrase, "Balance point has nothing to do with the lead or plant foot."... your coaching expertise seems to be nonexistent. Lol... ya balance, gather position, drive have EVERYTHING to with plant foot and follow thru. I'll not confuse you with the kinetics of the integration of the 6 phases of a delivery that eventually help determine the phyical toll/durability/lessen chances of injury. Or, even the more simplistic "stuff" as... heel vs toe lander, straight vs bent knee, open vs closed plant position... Not sure what "scouts" you chatted up, but you seem to think velocity is only FB related. I've read your "expert takes" from Surprise. They are exactly that of internet,TV jargon, want to be the smartest guy on the baseball board... so it's no "surprise" you pop up irregularly and then seem offended when someone else "threatens" your "turf" lol. Voodoo medicine... really? That's your analogy/comparison? I'd say discussing this over a beer, but you'd probably argue the roasting of the barley has no effect on the coloring and amount of antioxidants! And, I'd rather just enjoy the flavor. 😉 No need to reply, but you will and I promise not to, so you may have the last word... helps salve the ego for some... you? I'm sure your vast knowlege and indepth insider chats outweigh actual reality. Dazzle with brillance or baffle with BS... problem is some can tell the difference!
